Looking for other interpretations of this. I believe the official word was that it was about the music industry, but after seeing the video almost everything points to DMT. This is going to be a long-ass post. Some of this may seem like a stretch but I'm analyzing everything here.
There's some debate as to the correct lyrics of the song but I'm pretty sure I have a correct version.
=====================================================
The video starts with a man looking very depressed. he wakes up and puts on his business atire while he looks at the market values for the morning (forgive my lack of knowledge there). Right off the bat, DMT is sometimes referred to as the "business mans' drug" due to the nature of the trip.
Next we see him doing the hollywood "walk", strutting his ego and walking towards the elevator. He readjusts his suit a bit and then the lyrics start.
["Come on down to the other side"] - At this point the elevator plummets and he seems startled. He quickly readjusts his suit (representing his ego) and acts like it didn't happen.
["We will drag you from where you are to where you belong."] - Not sure about the "gates of hell" reference. He is now terrified (first timer?) and doesn't know what to do. He's traveling at high speeds. "Drag you from where you are" is the powerful out of body effects that DMT gives many people.

Now it gets interesting. The (I assume) alien being that appears is a very common theme with DMT use.
["There's nothing to fear, your saviours are here"] - Personally, every being that I've encountered with DMT was reassuring to help calm me down.
["And when you try to escape, I'll be holding on"] - Very much like DMT. If you try to take control or get rid of the effects, it only makes it worse as it tightens its grip on your mind.

A fairly common thing for me with DMT was periods of chaos and then a brief calm where I could really take in the visuals before it got rough again. A few times throughout this video the elevator stops and he will see something wonderous.
==============================================
At about 1:50, we see the classic tunnel travel.
==============================================
["We are in your spirit, we're everywhere you turn"] - perhaps a multidimensional reference?
["From the cover to the cover"] - implying a book or story. I interpreted this as the story of your life, from cover to cover.
["Your lover, (to your brother), to your mother, (to the others)"] - When taking a heroic dose of DMT + Salvia I once became my mother. Everything that I understood about her, I became. Interesting to see that line.
["But now you're on your way, and I am falling apart under the waves"] - DMT trips are constantly changing. While you may be visiting some alien being it can quickly change to something completely different and maybe they miss us? lol
===============================================
At 3:00 the bread and butter of this analysis begins. The breakthrough, or close to it. The elevator is now completely gone and he is traveling through hyperspace. He apparently breaks through at 3:33 and proceeds to become a child and then an embryo.
Perhaps the child is representing the loss of ego. Seeing the world through child-like wonder again. I'm not entirely sure.

So, that's all I can think of right now...But to me, the whole thing has DMT written all over it. I can't see any music industry here.
We're the new hippies, we get high on life, not drugs.
We thrive in drama, and bathe in activeness.
Fashion is a religion and vocabulary defines you.
Politicians load the gun, and celebrities fire it, killing all humankind.
