Hello fellow Nexians!

A foaf recently began his adventures in the magical realm of DMT and its allies and has to say he is so immensely fascinated by it that he can't stop reading the Nexus! His friends laugh at the amount of tabs he has open in his browser and all of them are either Nexus tabs or ones related to this magical substance. So thank you all for making this community so delightful to be a part of.

Now for the question. A foaf has read a large amount of threads and stickies in the Changa forum and is finally about to make some rather soon (10x B. Caapi leaf infused onto regular B. caapi 1:1spice:leaf), but is wondering what best to use to evap? Would it be IPA (96%), acetone, ethanol? What are your experiences? A foaf has come to the conclusion that IPA would be the best to use? Is this correct to assume?
The IPA available here is 96%, but also contains BERGAMOT. Would this have any adverse effects on the changa? Is it still OK to use this IPA? Or would it just give off its odour onto the enhanced leaf?

Thank you for reading!

Respectfully,
Import

If you've already got the 10x caapi and just want to infuse some spice onto it, then IPA will work just fine. I'd try to find some that doesn't have any extra additives besides water though. I have no idea what bergamot is but if it doesn't evaporate cleanly then it's probably a no-go.

If you are making the 10x caapi yourself by soaking the leaves, then ethanol is your preferred solvent.

When dealing with extracted harmalas, methanol is your best friend. The changa guide in my signature explains how to work with extracted harmalas but the evap process listed is pretty much the same no matter how you do it.

Good luck and welcome to the Nexus. Smile

This is what I am doing. 20 grams of dried and finely chopped B. Caapi leaf in a jar filled with ethanol a couple of centimetres above the leaf. Every day I take it out and mix it like a madman and put it back.
I have read about the process of what to do after the 30 days in the freezer have passed but it's all so very confusing for a first-timer... Rice cookers and all. Are they really necessary? Can I not just evap the menstrum regularly?

Is shredded caapi vine suitable for 10x.. I was thinking of extracting caapi vine and then infusing calea leaf with it.. then make that into changa with some blue lotus and Pau D'arco... mmmmmm?????
You can't do anything about yesterday, but you can do everything with tomorrow.

Everything I write on this forum is pure gibberish and fanciful nonsense!

So first of all you should have clean IPA without additives. You can also use acetone or naphtha.

Secondly you do not need to keep your caapi in freezer. Just have it in dark place. I have done the same think. I do not know what would you need rice cooker for. After 30 days just evaporate the menstrum on dry caapi leafs or any other preferred herb.

There is also different way to do this and it takes instead of 30 days just one Smile Yes its true but I did not know that then. What you do is just boil caapi leafs for few hours and then strain it and evaporate as stated above. The evaporation will take a bit longer but the whole process is much quicker.
