My interest in DMT occurred after a friend decided to explore the world of psychedelics. The thought of proceeding to another world, or "trip", fascinated me. Our first attempt at smoking the substance was less than successful. We had used a method that used a can and vaporizing it with a lighter; it was a complete failure. This led us onto a mission: to find the perfect DMT smoking method. This led to countless hours of research (which brought us to this site). From there, we decided to make our first contraption that we called "The Spaceship". This involved around 5 hours of drilling through a glass bottle, preparing a heating element, and actually forging a metal bowl that has a depression. This led up to my first DMT trip. It was mind-blowing. I felt as if I was transported to a different dimension.
After several trips, the device we called "The Spaceship" broke; the constant heating of the bottle glass couldn't stand the stress. This forced us to rethink our approach. The method comes with a mentality of "simplicity is key". I went to the lab I work at and got myself an Erlenmeyer flask with a vacuum hose attachment. We dropped in a sample of DMT and vaporized it without a hitch. The benefits of this method don’t just include simplicity and laziness, but also the durability of Pyrex tempered glass.

This has been an interesting journey so far to say the least. Right now, I am interested in more of the learning aspects from DMT as well as the extraction process. From the short time I have spent lurking around this site, I have learned a lot so far. My main concern now is perfecting any extraction methods and incorporating my organic chemistry knowledge (yay, school is paying off lol)

Your "spaceship" sounds like a large version of the so-called "Machine." You can find many devices and smoking teks on this site . . . .

Have you had a chance to try changa yet? That works in many devices.

I like your attitude of KIS - Keep it Simple.

I'm a big fan of the Glass Vaporgenie pipe. It has a ceramic filter that seems to damp the heat of a torch down to the precise temp needed to vaporize DMT perfectly. All of a sudden no burned plastic smell. My husband comes in and says, "I thought you were going to smoke?" and I reply, "I already did," and he says, "I don't smell anything. . . :

so far, the Erlenmyer flask has been the easiest and most efficient way in smoking DMT for me. It's also easier to clean (just dump in some acetone after smoking the rest of the salts)
