So Ive experimented with extracting a couple different substances including dmt, mescaline, as well as dxm from tussin. The more I read about the different substances that can be made in the home the more fascinated I become. Now what I am asking is if anyone here has any suggested reading for beginners chemistry. Now obviously I am not expecting pick up a book and know how to synthesize every narcotic as soon as I set it down (or even any for that matter). All I am asking is for a 1 or 2 titles that are good for someone like myself with a very basic chemistry knowledge but who is willing and capable to invest time and money
Using recreational drugs, including psychedelics, does not give you character points, it's not a means of fighting the system, it doesnt make you a shaman, and unless you actually get out and see the world - it wont give you any deeper insights into it. Can psychedelics bring about these qualities in a person? Yes, But they need fertile ground. What does this mean? Never stop filling youre head and never stop fighting. Otherwise youre just another wasted mystic sitting on your couch getting high.

you dont know youre on a leash if you stand by the peg all day

I'm not personally familiar with any chemistry texts outside of the resource that is the Nexus.

I found the Basic Chemistry thread brought some light to my understanding of some basics happening with the DMT extraction process.

This thread should be right up your alley: Best General chemistry introduction textbook - need advice

Some others:
Fundamentals of Chemistry: The Periodic Table of Elements
Dean's Analytical Chemistry Handbook

I also saw a mention and took note of The Organic Chem Lab Survival Manual, but I haven't had a chance to look into that one yet.

Best of luck with your studies Smile
The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call.
You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.

And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.

Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

Thanks a lot! And I actually own The Organic Chem Lab Survival Manual. It's very thorough on laboratory set up and its also kinda funny at parts

For getting comfortable with basic organic chemistry like reading skeleton structures , understanding steriochemistry , resonance , how to name structures and the most basic reactions one would encounter i'd reccomend "organic chemistry as a second language" theres two books
organic chemistry 1 and organic chemistry 2 , it's focus is as a supplement for the first two years of undergraduate org chem. It's got short chapters with lots of exercises at the end of each chapter so get the answer manual aswell this guy manages to explain something in two sentences that another book would have two pages for.A good background in general chemistry is needed to make the best of the material...this you can find in many other books.I know alot of people consider general chemistry by linus pauling as an excellent intro text...it's old but good and pretty cheap (haven't read it myself) he was an amazing chemist so i'm sure his book would be good....the above would probably not be taylor made for psychedelic chemistry but it's still worth checking out.
