Me and a friend are having a rather rapt discussion at the minute and something popped into my head that I feel I want to share with you all Smile

We each carry a flame, something society dulls and tries to put out, we are made to feel that we are not special in some way or another when in reality we are all special, we are all important to the grand scheme.

Facebook for example, has created ties and allowed for no 'disconnection' or 'continued motion' in life, it creates anchors to people and ties them into certain cycles, which is where jealosy, hate, anger, greed, want or gain, form from. Not just facebook, communication in general.

A thought that we both suggested is that why do we need to force new connections in a physical sense when one already exists? We are all connected without distance, without time, without motion, without thought. What if, we are simply only meant to meet certain people once? Or if we're meant to meet them again, it happens without notice, so we can be allowed to live in the 'moment' constantly, instead of wanting to live in the future or past?

I feel that communication or keeping communication has forced us to need to rely on others instead of ourselves, community works because it's an understanding, that we simply return to certain places at certain times of the year, like festivals. (Burning Man etc)

This is a small snippet of our thoughts and conversation but I feel I wanted to share some of it with you Smile thoughts?

Much love to the nexus and existence.
One can drive himself to madness in the obsessing goal of reason, without the knowledge of love and laughter.

Greetings Mystic0 -

I like what you said about creating anchors, and I think you nailed it. Most of us are afraid of not having those anchors because without them we would just be drifting out into the sea, so to speak. The comfort of feeling like you're always connected digitally to people you may or may not care about is very alluring. Anything to stay grounded, to stay safe. Despite how false these digital connections may be they still draw us in.

The freedom that comes from letting go of the anchors is incredible, from allowing yourself to drift out into the unknown. That is living in the moment, and it's a beautiful thing. The allowing of people to come in and out of your life as it is intended, never holding on or mourning their passing. The understanding that sometimes you only meet Person A so you can meet Person B in the future. The realization that no amount of effort or anchor-dropping will keep people around if they are not meant to be. Living in the moment.

I suppose it comes down to not allowing your flame to be snuffed out. Well, in reality it will never be snuffed out, but you can sure get the impression it has. Keep shining and keep drifting I say.

"You could give it all away, give it all and be unstoppable,
All away, everything is really possible, all away,
You never really own it anyway, It’ll all fall in place if you just let go." ~ Jason Mraz

The power of Now is a good read by Echart Tolle.
people worry about the past and stress about the future ,whereas in the now is where you are at.
when you think about it NOW ,there is no stress or worry you just are being.
we are all energy and have untapped or surpressed abilities that we have lost or have forgot about imo.
but what we are seeing is more and more people waking up to the possibilities of finding self and it,s capabilies.
for many a year have we been dumbed down and accept what we are told as gospel, but now there is world uprising in all sectors of live.
why.
because the ptb can only surpress people for so long, then they start to find there true meaning and realise that they have been fooled and lied to.

people start to seek answers for themselves.

I have disconnected myself from FB for that very reason. I got tired of the obligation to add people I don't dislike, but don't really care for. It's all a false sense of sociability. People feel like they have been social, when they have not spent any time at all with any one! So I figured my true friends will seek me out to spend time with, rather than just saying Happy Birthday because facebook told them so.

As for the flame, I have been struggling with this, too. I have noticed society (and especially my job) tries so hard to kill off that part of me that makes me special, the only thing that really makes me who I am. I'm always being put into a box I don't quite fit into. So lately I have been finding things to intentionally stoke that fire.

So important in fact that it can never really die. IMO all attempts at putting out one's inner-fire of uniqueness and self expression are null and void. It's really only ourselves that can allow this false sense of being diminished flourish. Your fire may be shrouded at times, and you may not notice it at other times, but it's always burning bright and will never cease. Whenever one decides to re-focus on their inner self they will always find it waiting, steadily radiating.

And yeah... forget FB... ugh.

I believe it is a reference to the front cover of human "books"
And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not percieve the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "brother let me remove the speck from your eye", when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye?-Yeshua ben Yoseph
