My usual morning routine consists of green tea, a kale raspberry banana shake, hemp protein mixed with water, and finally guayusa tea.

Just wondering, in y'alls opinion, is this too heavy for the morning of a journey? I'd be drinking my brew shortly after this...

I guess I'm weary of hemp protein and kale before the brew, but maybe I'm just being overly cautious.

Thanks in advance.

I will also drink Aya tommorow night and since the post is about the food before ayahuasca, I am planning to eat in the morning some bread with margarine, and a salad mix (iceberg salad, carrots, cabbage and corn). And afternoon , some cereals, pistachio, pine seeds, and some fruit (a kiwi and an apple). In the evening, I plan to completely fast for about 4 hours before Aya.
Does this sound ok ? Anything bad in the foods I listed ?
Can I also add some mushrooms to the afternoon meal (agaricus)? I love mushrooms...

To fairbanks: I read that caffeine is contraindicated before Ayahuasca. Green tea contains caffeine (though not much). Maybe not a good idea ? Not sure. I am totaly newbie to this.

Thanks.

Thanks for the input omega-scar. That sounds like a good plan for your food intake tomorrow. Mushrooms are one of the healthiest foods out there, especially for digestion, so I'd add it. If anything I'd be careful on your grain intake. The up and down energy of glucose rush with the grains may make you more tired at night than if you strictly ate veggies, nuts, & fruits. Also, if you're able to switch iceberg lettuce for a romaine or spinach you'd be getting a lot more vitamins and minerals. Clear lettuce lacks in nutrition compared to green lettuce. I don't think it'll matter too much though, remember I'm a cautious one. Smile

Caffeine isn't a contraindication with ayahuasca. Actually compared to the green tea, the guayusa tea that I drink has one of the highest caffeine contents of any plant in the world. In some Amazonian traditions Guayusa is drunk at the same time as ayahuasca to give the dreamer more lucidity and help in remembering the exp. The amount of MAOI you ingest is very sedating so caffeine can be helpful to keep you from falling asleep as well.

I'm worried about having too much fiber and protein in my stomach before taking a brew.

Not at all Pleased

I tend to find a light meal a few hours beforehand helps. My aya journeys usually sap every bit of energy that I have outa me. I always thought a lite dose of nutrients before a harrowing physical/mental ordeal never hurt.

most def on light meal. but you don't think having that much fiber will be overload on my stomach?? JW. I mean we're talking kale and hemp, two of the most fibrous plants out there. my only worry is putting unnecessary load on my stomach. i want to hold the brew down for as long as possible, ya dig?

interesting Ryusaki. would you or anyone else know why spinach would be bad before ayahuasca? if that is the case, then maybe my concerns of too much fiber/protein in stomach before dosing are valid? I couldn't think of any other reason why spinach would be bad before aya...
