I am wondering what everyone listens to, if anything at all, for their breakthrough experiences.

I have always leaned towards mellow electronic music, and of course the music always transforms.

Then recently I got this recording of some icaros from an ayahuasca shaman and its him chanting while shaking that little shaker made out of some type of leaves. While listening to that on my last breakthrough it transformed so much that I couldn't hear anything resembling it. All I could hear was this strange clicking/whirring/chirping/mechanical/high-low pitched/vibrating sound that at the time sounded like the most beautiful sound i've ever heard.

So on my next one I might try it in silence and see what I hear

I also heard tibetan monk throat singing was good
My good friend prefers shulman

If I'm going to have a significant breakthrough, I will try and avoid listening to music. In the breakthrough there can be much more meaningful sounds and messages that become obscured by the music. Additionally in my own experiences, music has a very strong affinity for causing hyperspace to move in a way that "deviates" from its original plan, so if I was in store for an important message or to see a place that the music may stop me from seeing because the scene can't unfold properly, then I just prefer to listen without music. I've had to learn my lesson on a number of occasions to try and stop listening to music (which is indeed an incredibly joyous thing to do on DMT as well).

In my one experience I Fucked the Cosmic Pooch I describe how a musical dilemma sort of ruined one of my most fantastic experiences. Later on when faced with a similar dilemma while listening to music, I felt I was being tested as I was presented again with similar feelings, sensations and everything, but I passed the test that time for which I was rewarded.

The First time I had a breakthru, I had some 80's music on...it was actually Blonde's "One way or another"....freaked me out cuz I thought it was the Elves talking to me...

Last time I hit the GVG, it wa some soft mellow Enya...saw Eqyptians carrying around giant blocks with Hyroglifs on them and then they noticed me and red bubbles of love floated to me...and when they hit me, a warm, loved, euphoric feeling washed over me..I wanted to stay with them but slipped back into my body.

That was my line of thought on wanting to try it in silence. . .

Sometimes music can be a distraction, but sometimes it can be the foundation and building blocks that hold that divine tryptamine palace together. Razz

I usually listen to ambient or music with little to no vocals.

Here are some songs I revisit when smoking DMT, they're always extremely beautiful and influence the experience extremely positively.

Just a few Razz
“The most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

Music won't let me breakthrough. If I smoke too much it starts to get chaotic with all the noise. Even chill music

i avoid music when breaking through. but for low/medium doses it can be utterly amazing (dancing to some and/or vocalizing with it especially...and this can also help revert dysphoric/negative experience)

years ago though when going into a breakthrough, especially for first timers, we would often play this on a low volume: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKw5mbcE7VY

helps keep the brainwaves/nerves calm and coherent during the experience

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

It works well when the vibe of the music matches the hyperspace scene, and everything is completely synchronized and all, but some times when the music and hyperspace just aren't on the same page, the entities can just look confused and awkward. It can turn into quite the uncomfortable moment.

Nothing I've heard affects the trip as much and synchronizes as well.

Try it. It's like made for DMT.

I'm in a living situation where if I want to smoke DMT I have to have the music on.

This is primarily because my neighbors are a bunch of super obnoxious tweekers that I can't stand to even look at let alone listen to while under the influence of DMT .Surprised

I like certain tracks from The Grateful Dead(too many to list), since they actually smoked DMT way before it was even cool they seem to know how to make good hyperspace music IMO.

Also Ravi Shankar and Shpongle are big favorites of mine as well.

The Gyuto monks tibetan quire are incredible "monk singers" they only had one album out it was produced by Mickey Hart..

Anyways I find that in major breakthrough experiences the music becomes a part of the hyperspace atmoshpere and does not really interfere....in fact I get some really wild synchronicities out of it sometimes

I spent a lot of time looking for good music for dmt, besides Carbon Based Lifeform - Interloper I have found one set that is an hour long that really imho is perfectly made for hyperspace. Its one of the first I found that I enjoyed, very mellow electronic, very few vocals and I find keep returning to it. ^_^

TB - Infinity & Beyond

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

This is a neat topic! I enjoy reading the posts here. Smile

I personally haven't had any DMT experiences yet, but would like to someday. I was considering silence with the intent to keep it focused and "pure." However I'm also really interested in the idea of microdosing and maybe listen to some of my own music, very simple sine waves, patterns, etc...

I wonder if anyone has done anything like this? If I'm not mistaken, I believe I read about someone here who had once microdosed and saw a sine wave moving across their field of vision (as an effect of DMT itself). I'm curious what simple sounds would be like or how they might be affected by DMT in varying doses and settings.

@SmoovPnCali - How fascinating! Sounds like a lovely experience. Smile

I am certifiably insane, as such all posts written by me should be regarded as utter nonsense or attempts to get attention by using totally fictitious verbiage...........

The above refers to the fictitious 'I'

Get a guide from the family to walk you through woods and caves while on a head full of mushrooms. "Follow the flicker of my lighter, use your senses and go with it"... "You just wait here and talk to the trees while we venture onto the caves" haha. Yeah it was a wild first experience. I have had many vivid experiences and combinations to study how to further my own influence and ability to create/improvise.
