In darkest night, when lights are dim, and all in sight seems sad and grim,
I find you there, your arms surround me, your spirit fills me and it grounds me.
I look to you, Lady of Truth, most ancient One, yet eternal youth,to keep me safe, protect my heart, and with the wisdom you impart, fill up my empty mind and soul,so that, my Lover, you can make whole, all that was broken in this day –and that is what I ask and pray.

welcome friendThumbs up i also think the earth is an alien experiment , but what for? What outcome? I personally think that the earth is a giant organic computer that the aliens have built to work out some wild question that is just impossible to answer , THE QUESTION , the one that always circulates on the event horizon of our consciousnesses. The question we all know but cannot put into words because our gutteral vocal chords are too primitive to utter even one syllable of the first word .A question that if we gazed upon it written on a sheet of A4 it would turn our cerebral cortexes to a universe inside a rice krispie. The question that empires have fallen for. The question that extinguished the dinosaurs. The question that when spoken by the immortals, from ages past, ignited the stars .The question that , like all lifeforms in all dimensions we crave the answer to. Seeking but never even getting the first clue.
It is said of old that the different letters of this question were forged in each of the separate dimensions and when the end is nigh, and believe me , it will be sooner than you think. These letters will be bought together once again and eternity will come to an end. You think you want the answer to a question you cannot speak, i know i do. But the simple thing is we are not supposed to know the answer my friend, if the question is an infinite brain mushfest then the answer makes a super nova look like a very small candle on.. a cupcake. There is a suggestion of a side of the answer (which in itself is a pan dimensional supposition and therefore has too many sides to imagine) in our peripheral psychic vision, like the waft of an old familiar smell from our childhood perhaps resonating comfort, or fear, perhaps he smell of your mothers breast as she fed you as a babe in arms or the stale smell of vinegar from last nites chips (french fries) . Who knows young traveler, but i think i"ve worked the first letter out as a b or maybe an f?

try not to turn your brain too inside out, ignorance is bliss knowledge is pain

You're right about "ignorance is bliss, knowledge is pain." What about the ignorant keeps them doing what they're doing? It's bliss. They're having fun not knowing what the consequence of their actions will be, so they continue on with their fun. Knowledge can be pain, or it can be the fix for pain. For me a lot of knowledge I have gained has made me happier and love life more, but at the same time some knowledge has made me feel lots of pain. I mean lots.

Edit: Since we're talking about bliss, I'd like to address my name. Botanical Bliss. I made that my name because I just thought it sounded nice, and sometimes I do feel like I'm experiencing profound bliss thru botanicals. That's not to say that bliss is ignorance Pleased Experiences of botanical bliss have taught me some great things, sometimes knowledge that is painful, but knowledge nontheless

Hey there and welcome! I'm new to this forum too. I liked your essay. I'm a huuuuuge aliens nerd myself. They are real! Very happy It's good you decided to go to school. A lot of my logical reasoning and methods for critical thought were developed over my two degrees for me. School may be "square," but it offers so much for learning and personal challenge! Just a thought... you said that you're in community college "mainly for your mom". I had the unfortunate mistake of making my schooling something that my parents would approve of, at least for part of it. It made me bitter and twisted near the end (something I'm still getting over), but just make sure that you do it for yourself! An career with the environment sounds like a good fit for your disposition. Hopefully there will be lots of job openings in that career path in the near future! For everyone's sake! Smile

I think there's an ancient aliens episode that explains that humans are basically a earth dwelling primate that was infused with Alien DNA (or bred with an alien).

That makes alot of sense to me. I think we can't deny the fact that our species is evolving at a rate that is exponentially faster than everything else in our environment. There has to be a reason for that...

I love your last bit, "So I started rambling about aliens a bit there..."
So awesome!

I have thought about these things, as well. I talk often to my brother about this type of stuff, but mostly about evolution.
My friend's last San Pedro journey was very very far out there. He feels like he came into contact with the information inside his own DNA. DNA carries vast amounts of information, and I wonder if there is a way to analyze one's own DNA. I came across an idea on an alien show I thought was most intriguing.

I forgot the actual number, but a vast majority of our DNA is useless mumbo-jumbo. I think as much as like 85%. Their idea was that this supposedly wasted amount of information could actually be alien information encoded into the human genome. It seems to me, if aliens did create/alter us, they would leave some trace. Maybe they intend to lay low and not interfere. They would want us to figure out our problems and make it on our own. Perhaps when we are advanced enough, and mature enough as a species we will decode the alien information present in our DNA and learn our true origins.

Damn! Now you have me talking about aliens, too!
