I've been reading this site for about a year or so now and have found the information available here to be extremely useful. It wasn't until today that I realised I was unable to post in threads, and I am submitting this introduction in the hope that I will be allowed to contribute to discussions in the future - although I may not do so frequently. I think that this is a valuable community, packed with intelligent, thoughtful people, and I'd like to be able to add to it if I feel that what I have to say is worth saying. Where internet forums are concerned I prefer to obey the inscription from the following painting by Salvator Rosa:

Roughly translated: remain silent, unless what you have to say is better than silence. After all, as Aldous Huxley wrote, unrestrained and indiscriminate talk is morally evil and spiritually dangerous.

My qualifications are as an engineer and scientist, although I think that my understanding of areas like philosophy, religion and psychology is also reasonably good.

I think that psychedelics - DMT in particular - have fantastic potential, and I am very grateful that such a responsible platform as the DMT Nexus exists for the discussion of such substances.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Welcome VAdder,

This really is an amazing place full of wise and intelligent individuals that humble me on a daily basis.

Based on your initial post, I think you will find yourself fitting in here quite nicely. However, there is no need to rush it. The Welcome Area is a very active part of this community, and you will find yourself with full access before you know it if you continue to exercise humility, restraint, and wisdom.

I look forward to seeing your contributions and thoughts.

Welcome to the Nexus VAdder, great intro essay. I completely agree with you in that psychedelics have a lot of potential. I'll look forward to reading more from you.

Peace

Macre

Good quotes, there are things in many ancient religions that discourage execive small talk.
An idle mind is a devils playground sort of thing.....

And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not percieve the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "brother let me remove the speck from your eye", when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye?-Yeshua ben Yoseph

Thank you all for the words of welcome.

I guess that depends on what you mean by 'an idle mind.' A lazy mind is bad, but a mind that can be without motion is good.

Welcome to the Nexus!

Smile

Absolute silence isn't completely necessary.
I don't know much about chemistry stuff, increasing yields, botany, ect.

I find welcoming people to the nexus is how I like to contribute.

Again, welcome!
