I had a very strange occurrence in a dream last night. I do not remember much about it up until a point in which I was playing guitar in a room with an audience of a couple people (I am a semi-professional guitarist in real life). I was playing extraordinarily well then something crazy happened. I hit this note that rang out with impossible beauty that I could never recreate or describe... but it induced this surge of energy in my body and I remember being absolutely astonished by it, as much as I would have if I had been awake and witnessed it. So of course I proceeded to play and then it got really weird... that energy literally jolted me upward off the ground and sent me levitating until I hit the ceiling.

It was so unexpected that even the people in my dreams had looks of astonishment on their faces. I kept levitating, hitting the ceiling, then returning back to ground level and so on a couple time until I woke up, feeling that energy slowly diminish form my body. The feeling was as though the heavens were pulling me upward. It was weird and somewhat frightening, but extraordinary nonetheless. I've heard of astral projections and things of that sort, and don't know if this qualifies, but I'd appreciate and insight or personal accounts of similar experiences.

you're dream brings two memorable ones of mine to mind

once we were jamming something beautiful outside under the stars when my friend suddenly swung his guitar between his legs, and exploded up into the sky like a witch on a broom..I then realized i was dreaming.. so i quickly did the same and eventually melted into a blissful cloud..or died..or something!

a few years ago i was laying down on my floor meditating (in real life), when i drifted off and wound up in a very vivid dream sequence of some sort. i was sitting on the floor playing this little chord-riff on guitar over and over again. it then took on a whole other dimensionality, and i became astonished of it in a way similar to how you described the note you played.. unable to stop (and not wanting to) i went into a heavy trance where this green swirling organic vortex of life opened up in my room. it was completely incomprehensible and the overall feeling/vision was like salvia and ayahuasca combined. my senses dissolved into a unified synesthesia that was extremely overpowering and i could do nothing but continue the riff and begin warping into the vortex in ecstacy. just before i was completely engulfed i had something like the thought: "parents are home. tripping hard. guitars really loud.i opened a giant vortex in my room......and i left the fucking door open!?" whereupon i then snapped out of it Razz

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

Dreams/experiences like that always encourage me to believe that such intricacy and dimensionality are always present in music... we're usually just not capable of being so totally encapsulated by it! If only we could always hear it that way.

Ive had a somewhat similar dream that was very surreal. I was driving in a car with a couple people. We were driving really fast on the freeway and lost control then the car veered off the road into a ditch. I thought I was okay. I crawled out of the car and stumbled away shocked and confused and returned to the car soon after, but my body was still in the car. I realized I had died on the impact. My soul I guess started floating away and appeared elsewhere. I wanted to visit people in my life closest to me. My brother and some friends were at the mall walking around, laughing and having a good time. I desperately wanted to be near them and communicate, but I couldn't. I had this impending feeling like my time to go was now. I was floating above them, I felt like a ghost, looking down on the scene. It was a very sad, frightening feeling that they did not know that I had died, and I would not be able to see them or live my life again. I was trying so hard to get their attention. Something started pulling me upward and I was fighting my hardest to stay but I got sucked up through the ceiling. After that I woke up from being so shocked and afraid. That was one of the most lucid dream experiences I have ever had.

Use this energy as a reminder that you are dreaming. Once you realise, let the energy pulsate and it will eventually become so overwhelming that your body actually becomes paralysed(remain calm). Use a technique that works best for you to seperate... welcome to the world of astral projection Pleased

"I am what I am. In having faith in the beauty within me I develop trust. In softness I have strength. In silence I walk with the gods. In peace I understand myself and the world. In conflict I walk away. In detachment I am free. In respecting all living things I respect myself. In dedication I honour the courage within me.
In eternity I have compassion for the nature of all things. In love I unconditionally accept the evolution of others. In freedom I have power.
In my individuality I express the God-Force within me. In service I give of what I have become.
I am what I am: Eternal, immortal, universal, and infinite. And so be it"

I had an extremely vivid dream a while ago that Miles Davis was my dad and was on his death bed and picked up his trumpet and played one long sustaining note, his last note he'll ever play in this mortal coil... It was the most beautiful, emotional, heart wrenchingly sad but joyous sound I have ever heard asleep or awake and I woke up completely bawling. It completely consumed my soul, that note did.

I have a hunch and strong intimation that these things (and some dreams) have some deep connection to the universal mind/matrix (and maybe the very place that musical vibration is picked up by the human antenna?) and the strange way they get twisted when the human mind receives transmission can make them hard to decode and understand. I may be wrong but I do know that they make a big emotional impact on the psyche at a very deep level.
