OK most of us know the view about lust in Tantra, Buddhism and the like. But have you ever been on an entheogen/psychedelic and it pulls up past lustful thoughts that you had to let go of? Did you feel the entheogen pulled up a past experience where you felt too much lust toward another women or porn, and you had to let go to move deeper into the psychedelic experience?

I am trying to reconcile psychedelics and spirituality, and I think this may play a part in that.

I tried to post this in the spirituality section but could not.

Peace and light!

during your experience it is important to not fight what comes to you, let it happen. if you are to go through some sexual themes or memories, its best to let it happen. make sense of it later.

my 2 cents

So let me just get this straight. For someone that has lust in their mind and heart they will get lustful experiences with certain entheogens at certain times, so that they can learn something from it? It would happen as something to ultimately try to let go of, and move onto something else? Is that the sense you get from entheogens?

Peace and light.

I see it as this is how you are. The psychedelic in question just let you see what you look like from somewhere else. I do not think it is something to indulge in or ignore.
If it were me, I would view it as a hangup that is weighting me down.

OK I guess my real question is can entheogens be used to transcend course lust that may be bad for us?

Love and light.

that is like asking a screwdriver to unscrew something. The screwdriver itself can do nothing. You wielding it however can do the job, the important part is that you are indeed putting the effort forth to make the change. Recognizing the issue in this case is half the battle

good luck!

through experiencing entheogens concepts such as "lust" can be abolished, albeit for most temporarily. my suggestion earlier was to not be afraid of lust, that is not to say look for it, recognize it and use logic in whatever state of mind you are. eventually the theme of lust will evolve into something else and when that happens your objective is complete, the trick is however not forcing it, let it reach every capiliary of thought so that it may extinguish itself upon completion.
it will pass, just take note of it, and meditate on it later. reason will come.
