Hi guys i tried searching for this as i KNOW it has to be answered here somewhere but after about 30mins i gave up, i couldn't really think how to word it in the search engine to find my answer so i thought id just ask in my own thread and hopefully it will be easier to find for others in the future.

I want to know how to keep DMT for a long time?

I know you can make it a salt with fumaric acid but my favorite method is changa or DMT enhanced leaf,
is there anyway to turn the salt back into freebase to make dmt enhanced leaf?

Or what would be the best way to keep the dmt freebase?

Or would it be better to do a smaller extraction and leave my material until i want more to help keep it's freshness?

Sorry for all the questions but i have the kinderling suspicion swims dmt has been oxidizing.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

No worries Slicer, I agree the search engine isnt very user friendly. Often times I cant even find my own postings when I search for stuff I wrote in the past. One thing that is helpful is to just use google search engine and often times things from the nexus come up.

You will get many different answers but my own opinion is that dmt doesn't degrade as much as some think it does. if you keep your dmt freebase in a mason jar with desacant in the freezer it will last a very long time. My dmt is about 2 years old and I haven't noticed any diminished potency. Ive even vaped dmt that I found in a drawer that was much older than that and again no noticeable difference in potency.

Hope that helps.

Whatever the form (salt, FB, still in plant material unextracted), store it in a cool dark and dry place. Silica desiccants and o2 absorbers (like in jerky bags) will help keep it from degrading as well.

Fumaric acid salts seem to be the most stable, for long term storage i would extract all the plant material and end up with a pure fumarate salt. Store it in amber vials, in a airtight/watertight/lightproof container, with silica desiccants and o2 absorbers at a cool temp. theoretically that should last a long time. you could even nitrogen purge the vials with wine preserver if you wanted.

oxygen, heat, moisture, and light. Protect it from those four to the best of your ability and it will last.

To freebase, mix 1:1 fumarate salts with lime (caoh) and hydrate. Fully dehydrate then pull with acetone and evap to get the freebase. Recrystallize if desired.

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

Ahhh well i will be looking into that method as i thought you must be able to turn it back to a freebase.

May even do a few tests and store some salt and freebase and compare in a few years.

Thankyou olympus mon & the day tripper for your speedy replies
