St johns wort is a very powerful plant, a crude extract can be made with water, ethanol or best methanol.

I wonder if anyone has expierience with it?

Id really like to make some for the family.

It is used very much in the traditional remedies where i live, most often in grease cream for the skin. It is most efficient for small burns on the skin,my experience is that it works miracle for dry skin or injuries of this type, its quite amazing actually.
Other herbs combined are usually Achillea Millefolium or yarrow, (its another herb with very long history of use in my country, especially in the liberation days when economy and pharmaceutical remedies were scarce) or Chamomile..

I have made tincture with St. Johns W. using 180 proof etanol. The end product hardenes like a candy if left to dry completely, so it is better to make a concoction of some kind for easier administration and/or skin application.
