In his book, DMT: The Spirit Molecule, Rick Strassman theorises that people that are born by Caesarean section have a harder time 'letting go' into the psychedelic experience.

Yet I was born by C-section, and have little trouble reaching transcendent states through mushrooms, ayahuasca, LSD, DMT and previously (VERY foolishly, I would never advise this) stupid amounts of ketamine. Indeed, I keep returning for more (except the ketamine).

My mother was also in labour for nearly 24 hours, so I imagine the 'stress hormone' that initiates DMT production may well have been in abundance between us at that time...

Therefore, I'm not sure if I believe that the moment of birth is like a 'psychedelic death sentence' if you were born by caesarean.

So was anyone else born by C-Section, and what have your experiences been regarding the psychedelic experience?

Also, if you were, did it take a particularly epic show of will to 'let go', or was it relatively easy?

Well thats a relief. Cheers Endlessness, I felt a bit hard-done by by that theory. Surprised Like a bit...subhuman.

'Science' can be dangerous with theories such as this.

You only have to look the 'scientists' who claimed 'native' people had smaller heads and were thus inferior in the 19th century...

More evidence for the importance of questioning everything, I guess. Pleased

I feel like this question being asked is just another version of the Nature VS Nurture that's been around for quite a while. The question you ask is whether or not being born naturally or through C-section would somehow effect DMT production or its use in a stronger way than genetics essentially, I can see where not experiencing natural birth could possibly have an effect, personally I was born of a normal birth and I happen to have a low tolerance for most everything, but correlation does not mean causation.
A dramatic shift approaches...
