Ok hello there! First post here

I've basically come here because of something that's been happening to my girlfriend recently.

She sleep talks quite a bit and I'm able to speak back and have a conversation with her. She also regularly falls into a very deep sleep very quickly and then looks really shocked when she wakes up. She'll mumble things and move about a bit and even look around herself with her eyes wide open but not wake up for a while.

I've never thought too much about the content of the things she says in her sleep. It's usually quite funny and I tell her the next day as she doesn't remember anything...

but the other night she starting saying a few things which really reminded me of stuff I've read about DMT trips by the likes of Hancock /McKenna etc.. (I have an interest in this kind of stuff, although have never taken a pyschelic myself..and neither has she)

She said she was with '3 beings' and they were talking to her. I asked her what they looked like and she said 'they feel ,... kind of green.. and bright' but after a while she said she didn't really know for sure what they looked like but she could feel their presence! She said that they really loved her and were smiling. She kept going on about how big their smiles were and started crying and saying things like 'they love me SOOOO much!'. Then she said that they had told her she would have to go back soon. And that I couldn't come over to meet them right now. And that I shouldn't try and force it.. And that you just have to believe and let it happen! I kept asking her stuff about them and where she was but she started getting a bit agitated saying that she couldn't stay there, it wasn't right to stay there for too long etc....

When she woke up she couldn't remember any of it

Just wondering if anyone here can shed any light on what all this might mean/ where she may have been. Has anyone else had an experience like this just from being asleep?? She has never taken any drugs other than a bit of cannabis now and then. And she had no knowledge of DMT or any reports of experiences like this.
Is this a common thing?
It really sounded to me like a serious DMT trip to visit some alien spirit guides!!!

She later told me that since she was very young she has had a euphoric feeling that is hard to explain, just before she falls asleep. And she often feels like something is looking after her.

She had a really nasty childhood. Parted from her mum who had mental problems, and growing up in care. A lot of bad stuff happened to her.

Can't help but think there are some kind of aliens on the other side watching out for us!!!

If anyone has any thoughts on this I'd love to hear them.

cheers
Tim

your body is asleep during sleep paralysis occurs while your mind is awake, how would he be able to see the difference?

Sleep paralysis doesn't only occur while your mind is awake, it's kind of an automated process. Sometimes you notice it, other times not. I've woken up numerous times only to find myself paralyzed and try for minutes to move a limb until finally the sleep paralysis started to wear off. Alternately, I've only once or twice managed to get to SP from being fully conscious, usually it's kind of a dream state transition between being awake in this world and that other one.

What your girlfriend is experiencing sounds very interesting, TimG. You should encourage her to consciously try to remember her dreams, if she's into this stuff. It's not easy work and it may be frustrating at first, but I promise it gets better with time. She's a lucky being to say the least. There's nothing to be afraid of. Sounds like a nice trip to the dream world to me.

There are some interesting dream reports around here which you can find by searching for "astral projection" or "lucid dreaming" or other dream related terms. Those will provide some extra information which you could use, along with some nice reading material. Lucidology 101 is a great place to start.
The truth...lies within.
