A friend of mine just experienced (masterfully extracted) DMT for the first time yesterday, he had tried nearly every hallucinogen in the book and was informed and as prepared as possible to enter another real and learn from within it. He took two really big hits and laid back. At first he was very worried about his breathing and felt the sensation of death, but once realized that it was just the start of something new he tried to let it lead him where it may. But he didn't go anywhere, he knew he was in the room even though his eyes were closed and he was trying to drift off he could not. He took 2 more rips swallowed the smoke deeper and held it longer And although it was very intense he stayed in the same realm, barely saw much of anything and he feels there most definently should be more too it.
He did open and close his eyes multiple times and spoke to the guides a couple times and had a playlist of extremely good mellow music playing out of speakers maybe some of those factored into it. He set up another time this week to try it again but he wants any tips or trips from EXPERIENCED guides on how to completely let go and get the absolute most from the experience.
Thank you fellow multiverse travelers.

Welcome to the DMT-Nexus!
I compiled a diagram in my signature that may help you out which can be found below. If that doesn't do it, maybe read through the FAQ, and keep experimenting!

I find a great technique for surrendering is to pay upmost attention and concentrate on whats going down

Drop the music. Dark room alone silent....... Then just let it be. Works wonders for me. Black then white are all I see in my infancy. Red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me, lets me see. There is so much more and it beckons me to look though to these, infinite possibilities. As below so above and beyond I imagine, drawn outside the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Being open to whatever is to be shown helps, knowing the spice is not tainted with petrol derivatives helps ease the mind and know for sure there's nothing to worry about. Hey it makes a great gift for someone who doesn't mind taking that risk. Otherwise, I have noticed posture reveals latices of light upon alignment. I always take solid deep breaths for about 5 minutes before entering that space, and make sure I'm in a good clear headed- preferably one pointed mind, but what do I know? How do the shamans in southern hemisphere vaporize the spice?

[I'm going to write this to your friend in the second person to make this a more natural conversation] Ok, so before I get to letting go, I'd just like to ask a couple questions first to see if we can find out anything else about what may be preventing you from getting as far as you'd like. Do you know how much DMT you loaded up? What are you smoking it out of? What kind of lighter are you using? Are you using screens and/or mesh/herb bed/ash bed? I ask these questions so we can try and narrow down where (if anywhere) you may have been going wrong in the smoking technique process. Now in regards to letting go, the first thing is that you'll wanna try to do is take a more passive observer role. You say you spoke to the guides. If these are hyperspatial guides, perhaps try listening more than conversing. Simply let hyperspace do as it will, and simply take note. If you're talking about online guides, then I advise your undivided attention go towards the experience during the experience anyway. Even a seemingly boring experience can elevate itself to levels of grandiosity if you patiently sit and observe. If you're looking to leave this realm, you'll find it exponentially easier to do so if you keep your eyes closed instead of keeping them open or opening and closing them. Alternating between open and closed eyes IME affects the energy that makes up the visual "stuff" of the experience, and can potentially prevent it from doing something profoundly coherent. DMT can be a very tricky substance to use. Despite the fact that it is quite potent and powerful, some days it just doesn't give and for seemingly no particular reason either. Meanwhile if you had bothered to go back for one more (not saying you should have), who knows what would have happened. It also may be very likely that your experiences may for the most part include your divided awareness between hyperspace and the room you inhabit. I find this to be the case for myself often where I am fully immersed in hyperspace, feel out of body, yet if I shift my attention, I can still feel myself sitting on the chair/bed as compared with a full out of body experience which is significantly more rare for me. I find the opposite, I go deeper if I let my mind go blank, then just flow with whatever path it choses to take me. Black then white are all I see in my infancy. Works wonders for me. It all depends on the person. For example I prefer good non distracting music. I think with experience the "surrendering" comes automatically as one knows that even the "tough journeys" won't hurt you.

There is no try, JUST DO. Don't think to hard on it, be open to whatever experience DMT has in store for you. The Unknown = A Place to Learn

I find it near impossible to let go fully if I'm not alone. Even when with my best friends there's something inside me that holds me back. Solitary dark silence leads to ultimate submission to the ineffable glory of infinity. Well it does for me anyway INHALE, SURVIVE, ADAPT it's all in your mind, but what's your mind??? fool of the year
