I think its distracting noise, and I always though Zappa was a ridiculous, suck, annoying, childish, excuse for a musician anyway.

IMO this isn't way ahead of its time at all, but that is only my opinion.

he is:
experimental
jazz
rock
blues
folk
funk
reggae
silly humor

all this packed in to his songs. he was very talented and his music is an aquired taste.
not everyone likes all kinds of music. so lets respect people and their choices of music.

I'm 60 years old. I've heard Zappa for decades so its not like I would "discover" Zappa. He's been around since I think the 60's or 70's. To me, he is like the Three Stooges of the music industry. And I actually like the Three Stooges, but Zappa is ridiculous over the edge, just childish and stupid imo. I don't know what anyone sees in his stuff. I think its nonsense, and there is very little music that I don't like aside from country music, which I don't think should even be considered seriously in the realm of music.

I know everyone has their own tastes though, so if you enjoy it, thats cool.

When I journey, I seek solitude and silence I and often wear earplugs. A solid spice journey has so much input that external sound is not required and often grounds one when one is seeking to transcend. The only muisc I would consider listening to for a journey would be some soft ambient chill type music.

even some trance / psytrance might work too

edit: but the best I think is silence. you have more focus. nothing shittier than trying to pickup on what an entity is trying to tell you and you cant hear it!

Yep, like the sounds of wind or waterfalls or maybe even wind chimes. Nothing more is needed.
