Yep. Swim did the same thing his first pull!
Powdered root bark is part of the issue.
Swim had orange-brown naphtha and thought- wow. thats a lot of spice. It was not. Swim had not let the dust settle so to speak. Even though it didn't look like little particles floating in the naphtha it was.
Let the solution settle 24 hours after gentle mixing if you are using powder. You will see the color go from orange brown to yellow. Don't pull it off if it’s not yellow. All the particles of the powder need to settle out of the naphtha.
and as stated above - yes! don't use a bucket or any plastic! ick. the chemicals involved could easily leach plastic into your stuff. Not good. Use glass only IMO. Best trip I ever made was to the local ‘brew your own beer shop’ for a large glass container with a cork, along with a good funnel and stuff. Beer shops have much of the material you want, including PH test strips and stuff.
See the photo below- you don’t want any of that color. Bad!!!!

See that 2nd photo below? That is the color you want if you let it sit for 24 hours after gentle mix.
