there's no such thing as alkyltryptamine, tryptamine is indole
ethylamine.
you must be thinking of alkyl-substituents on the amine, as in n-alkyl, or n,n-dialkyl
alkyl refers to a multi-carbon functional group. keep in mind, those analogues seem to be
inactive after n-butyl/n,n-dibutyl.
