SWIM ordered some MHRB and the supplier offered to thro in some CR-03 (as if he was doing us some big favor or something) I understand that it can be used in organo-chemistry somehow....
but if someone knows what this stuff is and how/why it is used ; I would greatly appreciate any enlightenment

Chromium Trioxide is an oxidizer. It can oxidize and alcohol to an aldehyde. It is a more selective oxidizer than potasium permagnate. It is also used in plating shops to electroplate things with Chrome.

Oh, and it's a carcinogen, like dichromates. It has no use at all for extraction or anything related to MHRB..
