SWIM finished his first DMT extraction using the Lazy mans tek about a week ago and the result was a yellow powder. He was reusing his solvent and freeze precip'ing. After he had extracted all he could, he did his last freeze precip and then transfered the used solvent into another container for storage in the freezer.
Today he put the solvent in a screw top jar for less chance of spillage while in the freezer and left the old container on the side in his kitchen, not thinking much about it.
When the residue had evaporated he was left with what looks like about 25mg of totally white powder.
Seeing as all the pulls produced a yellow powder how is it possible?
Is it possibly that leaving the solvent in the freezer for a week produced a purer end result?

It sounds like the plant fats and majority of the DMT crashed out in the first freeze precip. When you stored the naptha in the freezer, you essentially did a second freeze precip on it. With most of the fats/oils having already been removed, you are left with white crystals.
I've been doing a second evap/freeze on each pull this time around and getting an extra 5-10% on each pull.

Freeze percip is completely optional isnt it? Do you get the same results from a slow evap? im very new to this. X

I could be wrong, but I was under the same impression. I think slow evap gives purer results while freeze precip is a lot faster

Freeze precipitation is optional. It usually gives purer results depending on how one extracted. A slow evaporation can cause slight oxidization, but not much.
