Should I be looking for a specific bottle, do some work better than others? I don't drink, but my buddy says he has an empty jack daniels bottle lying around, but he also commented that it's " massive and very thick".

I would look for a smaller bottle, you will be inhaling more air than vapor with a large bottle.

I would use a larger bottle, because it cools the vapor and you can fill the chamber with it for taking one big hit.
