As someone that was bullied VERY badly up until he quit school in grade 9 I find myself wishing I could help this kid somehow because I know what hes going through.

I had a few good friends growing up but I still suffered a great deal at the hands of the 'cool' kids. After I quit school things changed for me though, school is the only time in someones life that they are forced to be around people they don't want to be around and I think its bullshit personally.

Now if I don't like someone I wont go near them, if your working a job as an adult where there are people you don't like everywhere you can quit witch is the way it should be. There really needs to be a better way of dealing with bullies than we currently have , its not fair that they can get away with stealing someones youth like this.

Now I have lots of friends and get along great with pretty much everyone I meet. Being picked on is a part of life for some people it seems, all we can do is power through it until we are old enough to make our own decisions and hopefully we build some character out of the ordeal. I'm sure psychedelics could really help this kid deal with all of this , to bad its taboo to talk about kids using drugs but there .... I said it anyways .

ps - shame on all bullies

Wow. That almost brought tears to my eyes. The responses below that video are extremely harsh too... i don't understand it.

I watched a video/movie recently called "no arms, no legs, no worries" about this Australian guy who has lived his whole life with no arms and legs and goes around the world to schools to teach kids about life and how worthless the act of bullying is. Kids sometimes bully others to try make themselves look "cool" and it is that group mentality that possibly makes them do so. I can imagine most bullies do it because of how they look in front of their peers. Kids need to be shown that popularity is nothing and there are so many more important things in life. Nick Vujicic (from no arms, no legs, no worries) really shows kids how wrong bullying actually is and you could tell he made an impact on the kids he was talking to.

I too was bullied for over a year in elementary school and even though it was bad, i had a great support system at home. Kids just don't think what they do may make kids want to cut themselves. They don't realise that calling a girl "fat" may be the one comment that pushes them over the edge.

Thanks for posting this, jamie. It really moved me.

I sincerely hope this kid stays strong and makes the most of the opportunities that life presents him, and has a happy and fulfilling time as an adult. Then he can feel okay that he not ended up as a cop which is the career of choice for the bully who lacks empathy.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

So there's a statistic that says people who were bullied when they were younger tend to choose law enforcement as a profession?

He meant the other way around, bullies are like cops, and vice versa, typical psycopaths. I doubt anyone here would defend institutionalized oppression, which is what both bullies and cops practice.

I took the opposite interpretation of damon. Many times, those who are victims of oppression/violence seek to oppress/enact violence against others as a way of shaking off a feeling of helplessness/insignificance. In the case of cops, perhaps being in an official position of power gives someone who was bullied as a child a sense of strength/power otherwise missing from their life. It's definitely been documented in some cases, although I'm unaware of specific studies, I'm sure they exist in some form.

Sorry, I tend to jump to conclusions when it comes to cops. I can see the other angle too, but I was bullied and that was the last thing I wanted to be. It would seem hypocritical to become one of them, but that's just me.

It´s very sad indeed that these things happen. Parents and teachers often just don´t see how big a problem it realy is.

When i was a kid, i had some major health issues as a result of wich i was physically very weak. I couldn´t run for ten meters without having to hyperventilate for minutes.
So, as you might expect, i was an easy target. (hit and run..haha, how great a joke that was!)

But i learned how to defend myself in those days. I develloped an attitude like 'if you fight me, you may very well win, but i´m not gonna let you hit me' .

Eventually, when i regained my health and strength, things changed. I was no longer a target, but i hadn´t forgotten how it was being one.

From then on, everytime i saw someone being bullied (wich unfortunately happened way too often)...i simply picked-out the biggest bully and kicked his ass. In front of all his bully-'friends'...and i don´t regret that at all.

Bullies are sicko´s, but the real problem is the crowd that follows them. Those are the spineless souls of this planet. You can detect this kind of spinelessness from miles away. Luckily, they almost immediately turn against their 'leaders', the moment they find-out their leader isn´t superman. They´re just vultures....Spineless vultures Confused .

problem is when dealing with bullies physically (espacially in some really poverty striken communities) you dont know if they have a knife. if you raise a fist against some kid there ego will be hurt and more than likely if they coem from an abused home they'll come back and get you with some friends and a bat (or worse). never happened to me, but ive had friends that got the ever loving shit kicked out of them by literally gangs of people during childhood.

violence doesn't really solve the problem the only way to deal with it is to remove yourself from the enviroment, but kids are given 0 power or say in that kind of thing so stuff like what was posted in the op happens. some really messed up sick people in this world.

So I take it from this video that he actually is gay and the issue was more about him accepting his sexuality than bullying? I could be mistaken but that's how I interpreted it.

I was the same way as polytrip.. if i caught you bullying.. i put you down on the ground hard.. if i caught you mugging in a bathroom. i mugged you back.. i lost all control over that kind of crap... i look back on it after my jump and wish i had better wisdom, just the perfect words that might have changed it all.. but i guess because i did not have the rt words or alot of time. i just did the best i could the quickest way i knew how. to let them feel the same pain they put on others.. if i saw 3 on one i jumped in.. it cost me alot.. i was kinda crazy about it .. i truly thought god would keep me safe if i was doing the rt thing.. some are just born smaller and the bad pray on them.. got expelled from every school in my county for,, attacking students without provdcation.. oddly my dad was very proud of me.. i have gay friends that treat everyone they meet with love and respect... i found away to stop gay bashers in there tracks.. i tell them i like gays and they should too .. if i even suspect your going gay i will talk you into it and try to get you too take a friend along witj you.. cause it cuts down on my compatition.. they laugh.. but its this simple.. it makes them understand they have little to fear from someone who is that way.. im sure there are much better ways to change minds. but i work and spend time around alot of alpha males... and shocking them into an understanding is quicker.. i truly hope i have not offended anyone..
