Hello all,
I am new to this forum and to the realm of Dmt experience. I was wondering if anyone has any advice about how best to go about mentally preparing yourself for a departure from the "waiting room"? I was told during my last trip that I was not ready to leave the "waiting room" and would not be allowed to do so until I had freed myself from fear. Is this experience common among travelers and how does one go about preparing themselves? Is it a matter of my exposure to certain media and experiences as of late? My first experience was much different much more peaceful and I was wondering if it has to do with the fact that I have recently been a part of the Occupation movement and have witnessed several instances of brutality, not to mention the constant stress that comes with being a part of that movement. Should I distance myself from those stressors in preparation for my next journey? what do you wonderful beings think?
Also, I love you all!

If you don't mind telling; i'd love to know in what circumstances you have got the advice to free yourself from your fear? If you are told to rid yourself from fear. Then i think you have to do just that. Stop being afraid.. Of anything. Don't fear me. Don't fear public media. Don't fear death. I think that can get you a long way.
When you are ready and prepared you will probably know it.

Quote:Is this experience common among travelers and how does one go about preparing themselves? Yes, this is common. If they do not deem you fit, they won't let you in. They might suggest things as "you have to learn the lesson" or they might be more specific like in your case. I think that it is expected that you actively work on your problems in real life. This does not mean that you have to cut out all stressing things, but to find a way to deal with them better. Moreover, not fearing the experience is also essential in the way that you to find a way to "access" it more quickly ..also refered to as "letting go".

The circumstance in which I was told to free myself from fear happened during a trip. I was laying back on my bed viewing the oscillating patterns that are so prevalent when it comes to these kind of experiences. I then started to feel a very deep sinking feeling, a very deep and dense vibration that came from the core of my perception. I was just becoming aware of my perception being expanded beyond the room I was in. I could see the room for what it was, just a box that was inside my mind, and there was a vast formless space stretching to infinity beyond it. I could not go further however, I felt anchored by this deep unnerving vibration that seemed to encompass all of my misgivings about myself and the world, like they were all wrapped up in this dense orb that weighed me down, I felt like I was sinking into the bed and back to the "reality" that we see in our physical bodies. As this happened I heard a voice, well it was actually my own voice but at the same time it wasn't. It was like a feeling that was so strong that it manifested itself into words in my head. the resounding message was "free yourself from fear and you will no longer be anchored here". Yup that's about it <3
What do you fine beings do to prepare yourself for a journey?

Sounds really intense and kind of beautiful. If you experienced a lot of fear during the experience I think you subconsciously resisted ego-death. Or maybe you just weren't ready. Atleast, that's what I think is happening.
I for one can't help you any further at this point. You are way ahead of me in terms of experience. I have a bit of trouble myself preparing for journeying. I just want to wish you a lot of luck and good vibes your way.

Uplifting music(or any music you like) and warm up dosage of 10-15mg are IMO perfect for relieving pre-flight anxiety. Another advice that don't rush. You can find some reports of people loading more than they can handle at the "newb stage" and the results are well you know...
