Within the last few years I have noticed a strange pattern. While my luck with the ladies seems to have increased it does not seem to be a result of myself but the lack of competition. I have found that far far more women in 'committed' relationships are looking elsewhere. All falls down to 3 words. CALL OF DUTY. It appears that most males would far prefer playing a game than spending time with their women.

I've spoken to many women who state that fact they can do everything and still cant even garner a look let alone anything else. It appears that this game is as addictive as any kind of drug. I just read a study in japan where they state that the male libido has made some drastic drops in the recent years as young males prefer to escape into the digital world. The current economic situation only makes this stronger as these men also are lacking the funds for social activities.

Get offline everyone, walk away from your computer. Go give your lady some loving.

I could see for guys in the dating phase, COD should not be up there in the priorities department. In marraige, it's about compromises. She gets a lot of TV time too, and allows me to play for an hour or two, while she facebooks.

No need to resent that benz...you´ve still got that allele on the 23th chromosome pair, so you will still be refered to as 'sir'. Gaming won´t change that.

Have we inadvertently stumbled upon a means of population control? Or evidence that the "Balance of Nature" theory wasn't bunk after all? Maybe we are just smart enough to invent things to keep us from mating, but not quite smart enough to realize that is what we are doing...

Perhaps COD is just more interesting?

CoD aint got nothing on addiction compared to WoW or any other game that has reward structures at many, many different time investment ranges and a permanent avatar.. though the gamification of stats themselves via achievements in recent years has certainly ramped up the addictive nature in both cases. These dopamine surges mess with your ability to prioritize activities in your day to day life and can serve to alter the scope of consideration so you literally dont consider trains of thought which dont lead to earning your achievements in the game. Its just a ramped up version of giving kindergarteners gold stars or whatever because it keeps them focused on earning that dopamine rush.

Im not anti-games by a long shot and in fact I think there is huge potential for learning and development in game environments that has barely been tapped as of yet, because game development is predominantly steered by market forces.

As far as this phenomenon steering people away from having healthy relationships... its just a new face on the same old crisis of consciousness and conditioning that has been festering since time immemorial. The perceptual tools required to break the spell are the same ones required to resolve so many behavioral ills that sicken us.

I think it is weird that people would choose a vidoe game over getting laid...why not just play the game after?

Allot of those into wow are not the social types I mean those hardcore into WoW. But the jock type guys are being pulled in by COD. Furthermore it appears the more technologically advanced a society is the less the men desire females. As seen in japan. I can only imagine this is going to get worse as games become more and more immersive. I can definitely tell something is there in community college I personally have a great deal more success with women who 'have a boyfriend' than those who are single. The single girl gets it when she wants the one in a relationship hasnt had it in 6 months.

I would even philosophize a theory. The divergence of man wherein our species splits into those who continue in this dimensional realm, and those who leave merging into a domain of their own creation. As these virtual reality environments become more and more immersive I think there will come a time when the matrix will be a true entity.

maybe some forms of autism do well in technologically advanced society´s. It´s a well known fact that there are A LOT of asperger´s, living in the sillicon valey area.

Less time for games?

A study I googled said the constant stream of endorphins is what keeps them on the hook so to speak. You get no where near the level of endorphins that sex gives but you get it easier and for hours on end. And you have been trained to suck at this neurological teet since you were a child. It activates the same pleasure center in a mans brain as sex does but this is not the case for women.

Instead of a boob job ladies maybe have a lil 3'' lcd installed.... Just sayin.

Yeah, but a normal brain is wired to be able to get out of that compulsive mode.

All kinds of forms of autism are spreading in western society. It´s almost like an epidemic, when you look at the increase of childeren diagnosed with some form of autism. Some are very mild forms of autism, but still.
It could be because of exposure to hormones like in meat, it could have other causes. In techno-hubs like sillicon-valley, the percentage of people with aspergers is realy way above average.

It could be that more people with autism actually manage to put childeren on this planet, since 'nerdy' behaviour has become 'normal' in some places.

It´s also been sugested that high levels of stress during pregnancy, can result in more childeren with autism, and stress levels may be higher in urban areas.

And after all...it could be that the combination: stress, hormones and living in a high-tech society has created a 'perfect storm', resulting in a boom of autism in modern society.

Age is a factor too.

My sex drive plummeted as I approached 30. I'm almost 31 now and I'm hardly ever in the mood but it doesn't bother me. I actually seem to have more mental energy and feel more balanced and in control. Luckily my wife and I have a powerful spiritual bond, so it doesn't hurt our relationship.
