Yes, I'm just now getting into it. I find it really cool how it blends Egyptian mythology with the Ancient Alien concept. Being a Macgyver fan, I like SG1. Cool I also like how Teal'c is a "Spock"-type character only more like Spock on steroids.Laughing

wait till u get to the end the ori=crusades. They subtlety put a lot of religious and philosophical implications into the plot line of the story it is actually a good lesson.

Man i used to watch stargate everyday when i was younger, i must have seen every episode in the series twice. Hands down though, the original movie kicked ass, and atlantis kinda sucked. Universe was interesting, but not surprising that it was cancelled. I think they had a good run though, and it was another excellent Canadian produced show.

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

Most stargate fans didn't like it. Too soap opera like. Many didn't think it would make it out of the first season I sure didn't that first season sucked something awful. The second wasn't so bad. they were supposed to make a MMORPG startgate based but internal strife put that on the shelf for the most part.

Loved the original series, every moment of it, especially the final episode. Watched the films, they were just okay. Never paid any attention to any of the knock-off series. Saw a little of Atlantis; strongly disliked Universe.

vovin, you're right, but I wish the game had gone through because I was in the original alpha/beta testing, and it was pretty fun!
Do not listen to anything, "Steely" says. He is a made up character that his owner likes to role play with. His owner is very delusional and everything he says is completely untrue and ridiculous.

Oh man I loved Universe..and I watched every season of stargate more than once. Alot of people did not like it though I know-it had a sort of darkness about it that was reminiscent of Battlestar Galactica, which is another great series..sci-fi and fantacy was about all I watched back when I had a TV..now I just watch the series I want to watch online..it was great having the sci-fi channel though.

There was a hilarious south-park episode that was almost entirely a stargate parody, although it also featured jesus, some 'chronicles of narnia' creatures, morpheus (matrix), all gore and some other characters.
The gate leads to 'imaginationland' and eventually a herd of cute bambi-like animals rape and kill curt russel and his team...you can hear him scream through the radio:'aaaah, they´re raping us, and it hurts'. Then all gore wants to use an atomic bomb to destroy imaginationland, because of the threat of 'manbearpig'.Laughing
I couldn´t find it on youtube, unfortunately.

I remember that one it was epic, gave me and a buddy a few weeks of laughter about manbearpig jokes in highschool. I think i'm going to try and find it in my south park collection i torrented.

I used to love the sci-fi channel for all the good shows like BSG and stargate, too bad those a-holes lost a viewer like me permanently for cancelling BSG and stargate. All they have now is Ghost hunter bullshit and other "reality tv-esque" scifi that is horrible entertainment imo.

Personally the main strength behind sg1 was the cast. Maguyver's interactions with the crew laid a beautiful comedic overtone. The main reason the other 2 especially sgu failed is because at least for me the cast couldn't compete with the originals. I think they blew a big opportunity not getting that game off the ground. Stargate has a large cult following and if done right it could have rivaled the current online games on the market.

while the final seasons of sg1 and atlantis were being aired, i enjoyed the series, though trying to get through the first 6 seasons earlier this year was painful.

for me now, it has the occasional joke, but the story lines are very predictable, cliche and repetitive, some concepts are interesting though, space, travel, life, mythology, philosophy, i just cant enjoy it at all now.
my name, is nobody.

Gantz Grof exists within "Meta-Novel" which you are currently reading, and therefore a part of.

Meta-Novel draws its inspiration from the likes of Kaufman, Jarmusch and others, who coincidentally stole the idea from the creator of Gantz Grof and Meta-Novel.
