so this aya was made with 1.5kg black caapi and 1kg p viridis.
a dash of vinegar was added to each wash
it is active, i can say from sampling
i brewed both separately and reduced separately, the caapi was done first so i put it in the fridge
as soon as the p viridis was reduced enough i mixed 1 part caapi (cold) to 3 parts p viridis (hot) to cool the p viridis enough to drink
as soon as they mixed, the concotion seemed to snow, just as a rue precipitation might, i drank about half of this warm mixture and noticed a clump in the cup, now i had already thoroughly filtered both solutions before mixing, so it startled me to see a solid mass, i mixed it back up and drank another swig to about 3/4 of the cup (200ml drank) figuring id like to see what the heck this could be (most likely harmalas by the looks) i poured it into a glass cup and let it sit overnight (unneccessary as the salts fell within minutes)
observing it today i noticed above the salt was the liquid it presumably fell from and it had separated into a clear orange and a murky yellow, but not a oil on water separation, just a cloud resting at the bottom of the liquid. i siphoned off most of the liquid and am evaporating the brown salts i assume are harmalas.
my curiousity is that could i have somehow precipitated spice from the p viridis and/or harmalas by simply brewing them separate and having such diverse temperatures....
additionally, i mixed them when they were both hot and nothing happened...
