hey nexians! so i just took half a gram of spice and did a heat bath with acetone in a shot glass then dumped it into another shot glass with my herb for enhanced leaf. today i checked on it and im left with a yellow hardend goo with herbs. does anyone know what happened? or how to fix this. also then i did an eveap test on some of the acetone and there was a white residue left behind. the acetone dosent say there is any additives in it, but also it didnt say there isnt any either. what should i do??? thanks for your help

So pure acetone left white residue? I've never heard of this... Where did you buy it?

DMT after acetone evaporation might be gooey at first, but after you whip or mix it, it hardens.

Acetone leaving residue is bad sign.. Always do an evap test BEFORE using your solvents.

What can you do now? One option is to throw it all away and start again, consider it a lesson learned.

Or if you think its worth it, then re-extract it and do as many clean up steps as possible. Since we have no idea what the impurity is, we couldnt really say for sure how it can be cleaned. So ideally you should do loads of clean up steps. Maybe soak/boil infused herbs in acidic solution, filter, add more acidic solution to plant material, filter, put together liquids, filter well, defat 3 times with whatever solvent you will use to extract afterwards, discard defat solution, add base, extract with solvent, wash solvent 3x with sodium carb solution, freeze precipitate if its naphtha/hexane/heptane, recrystallize. Then get some good acetone or use some vodka or ethanol to infuse your herbs

i had to chuck it out. i tried pulling it with naphtha and got nothing. yea i didnt think there should be any residue left over with acetone so i didnt even check.....thanks anyway
