Hello Everyone, SWIM was performing the 69ron tech on dried cacti and came up with a new filtering technique. In the past SWIM has tried using a coffee press to get the limonene out of the "dough ball", but the one SWIM uses does not let the plunger go all the way to the bottom, making it impossible to really squeeze the material. SWIM found that using a cotton/polyester handkerchief as a squeezable filter allowed the retrieval of at least 95% of the limonene, a previously unheard of amount of recovery in SWIM's world. In the past there was about 50 ml of lost limonene that could never be retrieved, but no longer! Here are some pictures of this along with another useful device, a metal funnel designed for filling mason jars, just spread a coffee filter across the jar, insert funnel, and it is an awesome little filter too! it is important to note that this method should only be employed with gloves/goggles and KOH (not NaOH)

Nice, Ill definitely employ this method next time Listen to a man of experience: thou wilt learn more in the woods than in books. Trees and stones will teach thee more than thou canst acquire from the mouth of a master. St. Bernard

Definitely one would want gloves and goggles if NaOH was used! And maybe a face shield too! Yuck, I hate working with that stuff! Anyway, this was a by-the-book 69Ron tec using KaOH and limonene, and while the potential for injury is there, it is less intense with these materials than the others mentioned. Goggles are still recommended, and gloves too since limonene seems to dry my hands out. Be safe ya'll! A scale is a wonderful thing. Everything else posted by CS is lunatic fiction.

its not the orange oil im suggesting you watch out for its the base, if its caustic lye youre going to injure yourself. also you dont want orange oil all over your hands, its a skin irritant
