I've had a bit of a search trying to find if there is a thread on how people load up their GVG with straight Spice.
After making my copper pad smaller so that it sits on the bottom with minimal side contact, it is now even further down to the pad. So I'm wondering what methods people deploy to get their straight Spice into the middle of the pad.

This is what I've been doing with what I'd call average results;

Get a small piece of paper like the one pictured and place this on your scales.
Turn scales on or 'Tare' (zero it) it with the paper placed on it.
Measure out your dose.
Use the folded end of the paper to load up your dose down into the copper pad.

I find that even if I'm careful sliding it off the paper it's still pretty rough as it free falls and hopefully lands on the middle of the pad.

Here's a thought; Maybe I cut the piece of paper down so it is narrow enough to be placed inside the bowl. Then you could hold the GVG horizontal, feed the loaded piece of paper into the bowl and slowly tilt it back to vertical with the straight Spice coming directly off the paper onto the pad...

I used to do it the same way as you, except I’d heat the copper a bit before pouring the DMT onto it. That way the DMT melts in and there’s less likelihood of it falling off. But with the glass slightly warmed, any DMT that hits the glass will stick (and end up not getting vaporized). So what I do now is a bit more complicated, but very effective:

I remove the copper disc from the GVG and place it on a heat-proof surface. I measure a dose on a folded piece of paper as in your photo. I gently heat the copper, then quickly pour the dose onto the disc. It melts in immediately. I then pick up the disc with the tweezers from my scale kit and put the disc back into the GVG.

I weigh my dose in the little dish provided with my scale. Then, with the aid of a small spoon pushing it along, I slowly pour it from the lip of the dish into a very small kitchen funnel that stands in the bowl of the GVG, stopping from time to time (depending on the size of the dose) to softly shake the funnel to both prevent clogging and as a means of distributing the spice evenly over the copper mesh while directing it away from the sides of the glass. I usually heat the copper mesh like Gibran (used to?Shocked ), but I am not sure it is all that effective given the method above - not much of it seems to actually melt. My guess is that by the time the funnel is in place and the spice distributed, the mesh has sufficiently cooled to not melt it.

1.place the dose on the copper mesh inside the genie, just pour it in
2. put the top back on
3. heat gently with torch lighter and inhale slowly
4 as soon as it has melted stop inhaling and heating
5. blast off

Personally I don't worry too much about getting all of the spice into the very center of the mesh. If one worries about it, then compressed form such as big crystals or pressed powder can be easier to land exactly on the middle part. The funnel is also a good idea.

Pre heating the mesh seems like a bit of a hassle for me, and I've tried it. Melting it by inhaling doesn't seem to waste any of it(you can see the moment it melts thru the glass).
