hey guys, i've been putting off my DMT extraction because i've been unsure as to whether the "Ace VM&P Naptha Pure" brand is actually pure or not. i left some out to evaporate in a shotglass and there was no residue leftover that i could scrape up, but it did seem like the bottom of the shotglass was left with a white-ish tint to it (but nothing came off the shotglass when i tried to scrape it)... can anyone verify that this specific brand is pure? i want to make sure i have no nasty shit in my extraction when i do it for my first time. thanks!

I can't say first hand but I have read at least 3 dozen times "VM & P Naptha from Ace Hardware" recommended as good pure naptha.

Just to make sure I would recommend a test that is faster and will be more obvious. Take a CD or DVD that you don't need to use again (acutally it might work after... i dunno)
then just drop like the size of a quarter or more onto it. When I did that with mine the CD was exactly how it was before I put the naptha on it. Clean and a clear.

My naptha may be a little different but I hightly doubt that slightly different ratios of hydrocarbons will make a huge difference like it melting the CD.

I agree with Q21, drop some on a CD and let it evap.

I've personally used Ace brand VM+P several times and never had any issues.

You should be good but an evap test will let you know for sure.

This cd idea is absurd, I dont know who invented that! There is absolutely no reason why one would want to do the evap test in a cd instead of in a glass dish / pyrex. The CD not only isnt transparent (so less easy to notice impurities), but it can also dissolve in the solvents (so even if it leaves something it might be a false positive and actually part of the cd melted). Do it on a glass dish. Shot glass should be fine, just make sure its perfectly clean before you use it. Repeat the test with bigger amount of solvent, check again.
