SWIM just measured the product-- 2.7mg from 220g of bark or 1.2% of golden crystals. It's good-- not great, but SWIM made a silly mistake that probably accounts for it. After a freeze precip, it took a much longer time to evaporate the naphtha than SWIM hoped, so after some of the solvent had evaporated, he poured off 2/3 or the remaining liquid (about 2 oz) back into the storage container.
I have a feeling a fair amount of spice was poured off with the naphtha. If that's true, then no yield was lost; he just needs to run another freeze precipitation cycle. 2.7g is plenty for now, though, so the solvent will just be saved for future pulls.
The spice was going to be used as is, but since it will end up in changa, it makes sense to dissolve in a acetone, and put the separated product directly into the caapi leaf.
Blast off in one month (Labor Day Weekend).
