I was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 12, and was classified as a low-progression rate case. Scoliosis is where the discs between vertebrae weaken, causing the vertebrae to twist. Since then my upper ribcage has shifted to the point where my sternum is visible as a bump in my chest, my left side of my ribcage dips in a couple of cm, and my right side protrudes to the point where you can see where the ribs attach to the sternum. The main issue about this is the chest pains that have brrn frequenting me over the past 2-3 weeks. I know it is my shifting ribcage because all the pain originates from the sternum area, where most of the strain would initially be. I am going in to get xrays soon and if it is as bad as I fear than surgery may be the only option. My blood pressure and standing heartrate is kind of high at the moment, and not being too educated on this surgical prodecure I don't know if it will ever reach normal again. Does anyone know a person who has undergone this form of surgery? Did they have heart and breathing troubles beforehand? Should I take a break from psychadellics until I get my situation checked out? If my blood pressure never stabilizes then is DMT not safe for me? Id appreciate the Nexus' insight as I know alot of you are very educated persons. Thanks for your time.

What kind of answer do you expect. We are no doctors, but in my opinion you're good to go.

Have fun

Are you honest with your doctors before surgery when they ask you what other drugs you've taken? It's the law here in the US and I don't think your doctors want you using psychedelics anytime near surgery or during recovery.

Have you consulted with them (since they know your health best) about psychedelic use? You inform your doctor about all drug usage, right?

Yes I have told my doctor in the past of my drug use. And all he said to me was not to get stupid. He never said anything about health risks, but then again that was six months ago and I was answering his question about whether or not I smoked MJ. I intend to stop any drug consumption if surgery is the only option, at least until I am fully recovered. I must have been a bit vague with my question. When I do come around to it I will inform my doctors of all drugs I have taken in the past. I havent seen my personal doctor yet, as he just got out of surgery himself and is recovering from a hernia. I'm seeing him tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone knew people who have high blood pressure experience trouble with psychadellics.

I'm no MD, but I'd say psychedelics might not be for you. Better safe than sorry. One of the main factors Strassman rejected people for his study was high blood pressure and heart problems.

Periphery, definitely take a break from psychedelics until you get your situation checked out.

I wouldn't bother informing your doctor, as any doctor is likely to tell you not to take DMT.

If you don't take stimulants then I think you'll probably be ok. IMO stimulants are much worse for your heart/blood pressure than DMT.

How high are we talking for your blood pressure?

My advice would be to make lifestyle changes that lower blood pressure. E.G cutting out salt/fat, considering a vegetarian diet. Monitor your blood pressure over 3 months after doing this, and then consider doing DMT.

Are you prepared to make these sacrifices in order to enjoy DMT safely?
