Whats up nexus, The other day I was at a health food store and there was a business flyer on the wall for shamonic healing practitioner. Out of curiousity I grabed a flyer and emailed the peron asking what exactly there healings consist of. They basically said they combine tradition healing ceramonies with meditation and yoga as well as host ashrams. They said that they use legal entheogens such as pure salvinorin-A. It all sounds pretty cool but I was wondering if this is legal? I cant imagin that this guy is aloud to "heal" people especially with gray area although technically legal entheogens with out any type of lisence. What do you guy think?

The athorities seem preaty uninterested in healing done by "shamans" or "new agers" expecialy if the medican isn't on the DEA list, look at homeopathy, its completely legal "So the conclusion that I reach, visa vie the individual and civilization, is this: Culture is not our friend. Culture is not your friend. Itβs not my friend. Itβs a very uncomfortable set of accommodations that have been hammered out over time for the convenience of institutions."

Indeed, sounds like someone just trying to make money off newcomers to the scene/movement.. you probably would be grossed out by their insincerity.

definetly, maybe you should talk to the person, maybe tell them what psychedelic voyaging is realy about, and hopfully he would stop preying on the newcomers. its about spirit and mind, not money "So the conclusion that I reach, visa vie the individual and civilization, is this: Culture is not our friend. I have a lot of history with Organised religion, and it always irritates me when they ask for money. I was interested in this dude's "shamanic healing" stuff, until it was mentioned that he charges $200 for it. It's like when the meditation movement came to the US. Yogis would be willing to share information with you, for a price. It makes me unhappy because religion, no matter which form it takes, should have nothing to do with money. If the patrons decide that what you are doing is worth supporting and they give you money, then that's one thing. But asking for it while you're preaching, or charging people upfront for divine knowledge is crass and wrong. Jesus threw the money lenders and petty sacrifice sellers out of the Temple, and for good reason. Using religion to make money is evil and wrong, no matter what form it takes. Apply layers to reality, things only you can see. Add a beat to normality, to tap the core of insanity. Satisfaction is the death of desire.

maybe giving 200$ is part of the spiritual experience - relieving you of the burden of ownership? Buon viso a cattivo gioco! --- The Open Hyperspace Traveler Handbook - A handbook for the safe and responsible use of entheogens. --- mushroom-grow-help ::: energy conserving caapi extraction

Exactly what I was going to write. If you find the "religion" aspect irritating, PM me and i'll give you my co-ordinates and you can send me a check - it's a quicker fix, because I insist you send me 5000 dollars, or 20% of your total worth, whichever is higher. This is a profound lesson in letting go, and relieving yourself of the burden of ownership and removing the oppressive yoke of currency I am proposing, and it is guaranteed to force a change in you, but is of necessity quite expensive. And don't worry I don't keep all the money, only enough to survive: 0.146% goes to a worthy charity, the rest is administration costs and a meagre food and shelter allowance for myself and a tiny sum set aside to fuel my 18 rolls royces. I am also in possession of a potent mantra panacea, sent to me in a vision by je-bud-ishnu-amed, the deity of all religions, which i will gracefully share with you for the low price of 500 dollars. Included with every Mantra (printed on the finest and whitest and purest of inkjet papers, suitable for framing) is a small bottle of Huila de Serpente, another liquid panacea, for the ills the mantra panacea will not cure. The bottle can also be purchased seperately for 250 dollars. Let the moolah flow to the doola, AmenInsha'AllaNamaste, JBArk JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

the only time I have seen these large sums of money justifiable is some ayahuasca ceremonies I came across in my area that were run by a traditional peruvian currandero that lived in the amazon his whole life, had no money at all and so the fee for the weekends they did basically covered cost of plane tickets to get the guy to canada. Long live the unwoke.

The whole "you have to pay for enlightenment" scam reminds me of scientology. Apply layers to reality, things only you can see. Add a beat to normality, to tap the core of insanity. Satisfaction is the death of desire.
