So SWIM placed an order for 5 kilos of powdered MHRB from a reputable vendor in Brazil. After placing the order he read several places that orders under 2 kilos usually pass through customs no problems. Packages over 2 kilos may pass too but are more likely to be targeted for inspection.

SWIM knows the US doesn't seem to be cracking down on powdered MHRB as much as other countries. Of course the thought of his package getting held up and inspected at customs is a bit disturbing. I guess what SWIM would like to know is whats the worst thing that would happen if his package was stopped. Would they show up at his house asking questions or what?

Maybe Swim is just being paranoid.
At least I'm sure he hopes thats what he's hoping to hear....

A friend of mine ordered 5k end of last year from Brazil. Package arrived okay, but was late and opened by customs.

This friend will never again order internationally. That's too close a call for him in today's climate (also given 5 kilos of MHRB = 5 kilos of DMT - read the link from Entropymancer in my signature).

Probably best to order domestically going forward and maybe even stock up...

If your package gets stopped, it will be examined, and if suspected to contain drugs will be analized. If it is suspected to contain a large quantity of drugs,etc...you will probably "get an unannounced visit!".If not, the package will be returned later with a letter explaining what has occured, that it was analised, found to be ok, then released to you.BEST advice i can give to anyone is to check the scenario first with customs-You DO NOT want to be charged with importing a class A drug Dimethyltryptamine!!!!

-The implications are extremely serious, especially since this seems to be "hot news" with customs and immigration...

-The biggest concern being is the way they could consider a piece of wood that contains traces of dmt, to actually be dmt...it's a bit like saying that a bottle of wine (that contains 12% ethyl alcohol), is 100% pure ethyl alcohol, or that a packet of cigarrettes is pure nicotine by weight. How the law allows the clear promotion of such lies beggers belief.

As far as I know from other posts around here, the US customs has started to stop MHRB orders if they find them, and if they deem it so, it won't be delivered, but I don't think that you currently run the risk of a visit from the authorities. Going domestic and stocking up does sound like the way to go.
