How effective is Datura at stopping nausea? I'm thinking of eating one seed to try to stop nausea but I'm scared it might have psychoactive effects. Will one seed stop nausea and will it have psychoactive effects? I could use ginger to try to stop nausea but it doesn't really work for me, I eat fresh ginger root when I feel nauseous but it doesn't help. If one datura seed causes psychoactive effects then I don't want to touch it. Will anti-nausea pharmaceuticals help me?

I've never herd or read of anybody getting psycoactive affects from one seed. As for it's stopping nausea I don't know...If you are useing an MAOI then I realy don't know...good question. In this world there are adults and there are children. In fact the world is filled with children; they are angry and hurt, frightened and abused, lazy and ignorant, stubborn and hateful. The world hates an adult and they would rather cause their peers to fail at any venture of self improvement before having to step up and improve their selves so as to maintain pecking order and evidence of the lowley opinion they have of each other. The best of them enslave the others so that they all consume and destroy all there lives in order to satisfy their immense greed claiming that they are providing a future for their legacy and never question the possibility of doing better in order to leave a real future for the children they will leave behind on this, our Earth. They pretend that it is impossible and when cornered they admit their apathy saying that they won't be around to suffer the out come. They hate the adults for exposing their immense weekness. The total failure that they call success. Mean while the adults strive to minimize their own impact and perpetually work to undo the damage already done. The adults who already know; they are the children of tomorrow.

The Traveler wrote:A few datura seeds are good for denauseation and/or potentiation. From 69ron we learned that 10 seeds a day is the safety threshold. So as been told before, just keep it to the amount of fingers you have as a maximum. If I'm not mistaken the maximum Datura seeds endorsed by this board is 5 [EDIT: 10 - See Above]. Ideally, for anti-nausea, one would aim around 1-3 seeds. I, too, have a nausea problem - especially with oral psychedelics. I've used datura for this in the past with moderate to good results. However, last year ago I switched to Zofran ODT (ondansetron) and it works great. Dissolves on tongue and provides relief within a few minutes. And, it has none of the negative side-effects of Datura. "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." -A.Huxley

I had great success getting rid of nausea using good ol pepto bismol. I would take 1 cap if i planned to purge. There was still nausea with 1 cap, but it wasnt terribly uncomfortable. 2 caps and i would have minor nausea for an hour following drinking, then would be perfectly fine. After trying it without the purge for a while i ended up going back to purging. You miss out on a lot of the experience when you skip the purge IMO.
Dramamine works well also, but gives its own slight feeling. Ginger always works for me. I take 2 tsp of fresh organic ginger root with lots of oral doses with success. I have a batch of datura seeds that i use with ayahuasca and cactus on occasion. Can't say i ever felt much any difference with them. I used up to 6 without any noted effects.
hope some of this helps. I know pepto bismol worked awesome for me.

Some over the counter nausea tablets contain scopolamine, which is one of the active ingredients in Datura. It is sometimes listed on the box as Hyoscine Hydrobromide (another name for scopolamine), so tablets of this kind may help you.
The ones I have contain 300 micrograms of scopolamine per tablet, and it recommends to only take 1 at a time. I once took 2 before going to sleep, and although it only had a minor effect, it was very strange, difficult to describe. As I understand it (please do correct me if I'm wrong), 1 milligram of scopolamine is generally a fully psychedelic/delirious dose, so I'm not sure I'd ever chance taking 3 of these tablets in one go.
If you want to do Datura for nausea, I personally think the tablets would be a better idea, as you can be sure of the exact dose you're taking, whereas everything I've heard about Datura suggests the concentration levels of the actives can vary wildly and unpredictably between plants, which to me is a risk NOT worth taking.
