While I'm not entirely sure about Canada, in the US there has been a few Native American religious sects that have been allowed to import, distribute, and consume DMT and other psychedelics and are protected under religious freedoms. I know there is at least one Canadian tribe that is allowed to import peyote or shrooms (Peyote is legal in Canada, isn't it?) or something for the same reasoning. While that isn't necessarily the same as how many of us here treat DMT, I do think many of us treat it spiritually and respect it as a spiritual tool. There may not be an organized religion per se, but that may not stop us from being able to claim religious freedom to use this (and other) drugs. Of course this brings up other issues entirely. Like, will they listen, will they care, will there be enough of an outcry to stop it? I'm not a constitutional lawyer, so I don't know how spirituality will compare to freedom of religion and such, especially when the battle is over an illegal drug. The talking heads won't hesitate to say we're trying to exploit the system to be allowed to continue our illegal, bad, immoral (lol), habit/addiction to this mind altering chemical. Timothy Leary Wise words, but I don't think the establishment saw eye to eye with Leary. Something to do with him ending up in jail and Nixon calling him "the most dangerous man in America". "It doesn't matter how old you are, bouncy castles are still genius." ~Vince Noir

Europe is now trying to ban all DMT-containing plants. The USA is sure to follow in the war against DMT, and soon. Personally, I believe that within the next 5 years, it will be made 100% impossible to obtain MHRB in any developed country. So what are we going to do ? There is a chance MHRB will be banned from developed countrys in the near future, but all DMT-containing plants (i know australia did this) but surely alot of these dmt containing plants have other vital uses and are classed within a certain plant family that would cause havoc if banned (Lke when salvia almost got made illegal, the downside to that was it belonged to the mint family) You should follow up the threads about Acacia Confusa as this apparently has very similar results to mhrb

There are no reliable teks for Phalaris. Alk variability, gramine, etc. are all problems which have not been resolved. L "The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool." Richard P. Feynman

Maybe We should make a sub-thread here at Nexus dedicated to writing just such a religious doctrine. I vote we call the religion Psychonauticalism I mean what's it take to make a religion anyway??? Establish a church of Psychonauts and unite consciousness and spiritual awareness around the world hahaha! How does this relate to the first steps in hyperspace?

I agree this probably should've been posted under first questions. Although the nursery is limited on it's sub-forums use, I sometimes have trouble deciding where to post something here. I'm just waitning for the time when I get upgraded and can utilize the other forums more effectively. That's one very good thing about mushrooms. No one can ever prevent us from growing them. Sure, they can make spores illegal, as has happened in some states, but once you've found them once you have a lifetime supply.
The psilocin molecule (found in mushrooms) is similar to DMT. I've heard some people say it can be extracted and smoked (they described it as very similar to DMT), while others say this is not possible. I've never had much interest in smoking it myself, since I like a longer and less violent trip, but it might be something worth investigating to see if psilocin could be a reasonable substitute for DMT.

As soon as I earn enough money, I'm thinking something along the lines of a life time supply of mhrb The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. The others--the living--are those who pushed their control as far as they felt they could handle it, and then pulled back, or slowed down, or did whatever they had to when it came time to choose between now and later - HST

I have smoked mushrooms on many occasions. We chopped dried ones into crumbs and then packed bowls with them. Mushrooms cause a lot of friendly visual effects, but it's no comparison to DMT's raw, in-your face, glorious, indescribable infinity. H.

despite the legal status, LSD is still around. Other substances are as well. Surely it's not what we want but since a lot of people are interested in these substances I don't think legal status will make them disappear entirely. There will always be ways to obtain them, just as long as there is a market for them. It just means we have to become more resourceful, more willing to take risks, spend energy and effort to get them. To me these all seem like good reasons to NOT ban these things, as it will create more and more underground cultures that set themselves apart from society, which is unhealthy - kind of like repressed emotions in a human being. But it's not in my hands to decide. Our society still has this very neurotic tendency to push the things away with which it does not want to deal with, rather than integrating them in a productive manner. psychedelics and their users are made out to be enemies of society, when personally I see it quite the opposite way - we could be helpful elements driving society forward in a dynamic way towards higher understanding, thoughtfulness and harmony. But it's not in our hands at the moment. I think the important thing is not to give up. There are people here and elsewhere that are working on getting teks for phalaris established. They require still a bit more work, technical equipment and effort to see if this will be worthwhile in the future. Also, I agree with elphologist1 - grow mushrooms! You can easily get a never ending supply of mushrooms for yourself going. while this is not dmt and I understand the fascination with dmt itself, it gives me at least a great amount of comfort to know that in the very worst case scenario I will still always have this possibility so will never run out of psychedelics all together. Another option along these lines is cacti. These are two very powerful entheogens and entire cultures have used these solely for their effects, so at least we have a fall-back plan, however horrible things might become. In the mean time, who knows what the future will bring. Maybe it's one of those moments where it gets a lot worse before it gets better. One final outcry of the governments to try and ban everything before the failure of this policy becomes evident? In academia psychedelics are become more available and more of a topic again these days. If we can support this trend in any way, we should. And otherwise remain hopeful and ready to act when we can. cheers & love Enoon Buon viso a cattivo gioco! --- The Open Hyperspace Traveler Handbook - A handbook for the safe and responsible use of entheogens. --- mushroom-grow-help ::: energy conserving caapi extraction

Quote:tear up your lawn and plant Phalaris arundinacea. then grow some more in your house. Offer to replace the grass in your neighbors lawn and mow that as well I realize this plant is a source of wanted compounds, although no good tech is available yet. However I would like to urge a big word of caution. This plant is dangerously and horribly invasive in particular areas. Choking off our wetlands into a large mono-crop system, and ruining a once thriving ecosystem of biodiversity. If anything we can gain from our experiences is that this earth is a marvelous and sacred place we need to care and look after. Most often than not this plant is readily available from your local wetland already, please dont encourage this horrible plant to spread in areas not suited for it. But like I mentioned kind of before this plant is native somewhere and if it is, then fill your yard and your neighbors yard, sure no problem. But Please do your research and make sure this is something that will not become a nuisance species in your area. Remember, if the women dont find you handsome.....they might as well find you handy.

I meant extract the psilocin from the mushrooms first. Smoking the mushrooms themselves would likely be weak (just like smoking mimosa bark for its DMT). I've read experience reports stating it was similar to, or even stronger, than smoked DMT. I've also read experiences where there were almost no effects, and read scientific explanations of why psilocin should not be active when smoked. So I don't really know what to believe. elphologist
