I'm going to trip with some friends this weekend, I myself have tried DMT 2 times but never had a breaktrough and have a few LSD trips. The others are more experienced in LSD but never smoked DMT. We're thinking of smoking the DMT first and right after we're back on earth, drop the LSD. Or should we smoke DMT during the LSD trip and if so, when do you recommend smoking it? At the peak or the comedown?

Thankful for your opinions.

To quote an experience report of mine (that report is about LSD + Pharma, not smoked DMT!):

The Traveler wrote:
One thing thats important here is that lately I have been experimenting with LSD + DMT. I take LSD and smoke some DMT freebase on certain periods of the acid journey. This has learned me a few things:
1. Smoking DMT on the peak of the acid journey is ok for me but the acid might be too strong so the DMT is partly wasted
2. Smoking DMT on the comedown of acid is gold: I have no anxiety and together with the acid it brings me a more dreamy DMT journey

My idea is that acid is a too strong antagonist for the 5-HT2c receptor. I remember reading a pubmed article about DMT binding to the 5-HT2a and the 5-HT2c receptor where the binding to the 5-HT2c receptor was responsible for the anxiety.

My guess is that acid binds to that receptor too, so it could either as you say 'dull' the anxiety response of your brain. Or it could be that the acid has another less anxiety producing effect on the 5-HT2c receptor and that it is too strong to let the DMT kick it from those receptors.

I also noticed that smoking DMT freebase days after taking acid still has this no-anxiety effect. I wonder if other people have noticed that too.

Also lately I smoke changa on the trail of acid and that gives me a refreshing feeling after the acid comedown, it somehow helps a bit versus the stimulation of acid. I smoke the DMT freebase or the changa about 5 to 6 hours after taking the acid.

I hope this helps to give you an idea.

Kind regards,

The Traveler

SWIM's aunt of an aunt was kinda scared of the combination, thinking it would result into psychical obliteration or at least amplified pre-launch anxiety, but has instead found that โ€“ given of course the fact that she was very experienced with entheogens โ€“ the two elements are pretty synergic, finding effective&positive interaction with introduction of dimitri both at lucy's peak and comedown.

LSDMT is an amazing combo. Two weeks ago, I saw budda while a machine around us destroyed the universe till all that was left was a reflection of myself as the budda. A very healing journey, and I haven't felt the need to smoke spice since.

Thanks for your posts, I believe that we will smoke DMT a couple of hours after we have droped the acids since we're not that experienced. Will post a report of how it went!

If your friends have never tried DMT before, I'd probably suggest just sticking with DMT for their first time, and educate them thoroughly about what they're getting into. If they handle the experience well, then I guess dropping some tabs later on would be all right -- that is if their minds aren't obliterated by the ground-shaking experience and need a day to integrate it within their lives.
"'Most men will not swฮนm before they are able to.' Is not that witty? Naturally, they won't swฮนm! They are born for the solid earth, not for the water. And naturally they won't think. They are made for life, not for thought. Yes, and he who thinks, what's more, he who makes thought his business, he may go far in it, but he has bartered the solid earth for the water all the same, and one day he will drown."

I agree with easyrider on this one in most cases. However, if you're friends are experienced enough with higher doses of LSD they could probably handle it from the comedown at least. Did that once with a friend who'd had plenty of LSD but never tried spice. Set and setting were perfect and he had a beautiful experience. I find personally, smoking spice at the peak or comedown of LSD can extend the spices duration also. I tend to get 15-20 minutes real time in hyperspace with the right setting. This being said, my personal favourite is to launch from the near-peak (about T+2hours) of a good dose of shrooms. According to my roommates at one stage, one such launch had me in the depths for 45 minutes, and was one of the most profound experiences of my life.

It's an interesting idea for a trip. I haven't taken LSD since April, and I'm not having the easiest time finding more, but the last time was fantastic. I'm probably going to try and coincide my next LSD experience with some DMT.

It can be advantageous to smoke the DMT prior to taking the LSD, while you're coming up, during the peak, or while you're coming down. If you smoke it beforehand it can let you reflect on the experience more during your LSD trip. Smoking while coming up or peaking is often celestial and heavenly for me, whilst smoking it on the way down helps to draw out the comedown and can also be quite peaceful. My personal favorite is smoking it while peaking.
