If you ever searched the interwebs for how to do a CWE on MG's, you should have had no problem finding it. It's just a cold water extraction. What's so hard about it? Nothing right?
What I can't understand is why there's so much variation and ambiguity for this method. No one agrees about the precise time to let the seed/water mixture sit. Even worse, nobody mentions what ratio of seeds to water to use. One tek said .5 liter to 8g of seeds. That's pretty specific, but everyone else just says something like, "I put the crushed seeds in a cup of water". What does this mean!?!
I can't believe that others haven't demanded more specificty before.
I have done a few CWE's before. The first two were with relatively small amounts of Rivea corymbosa. I had no problems just using a reasonable amount of water cuz of the small amount being extracted. With my last extraction, though, I used 20g of heavenly blue seeds which I counted individually and turned out to be a little over 500 seeds.
I put the ground seeds in nearly a liter of water. Let it sit for at least two hours while periodically shaking. This yielded an extremely dark brown mixture, so I repeated the previous steps two more times. The last pull was much lighter in color so I was satisfied and ended the extraction.
The problem is that I was left with like 3/4 of a gallon of muddy water to drink. I have drank larger amounts of things before so I thought I'd have no problem. I had no major nausea which was good. The thing is that it took over four hours for the effects to kick in and I had a monumental case of the shits. Apparently, my body didn't like that much muddy water, so it decided to let the liquid bypass the normal route of excretion and go straight to my bowel.
I assume that most of the muddiness is just unnecessary gunk, nut how much water is optimal to ensure that (if possible) all of the alkaloids are extracted?
Maay-yo-naze!
