I have several very specific questions regarding the GVG before I choose to invest in one(not that I dont believe in its powers-I have read phenominal reports on it).

-To anyone who owns a GVG: How is the thickness of the glass? Is it on the thin/thick side? Does it feel fragile or that it may break at all? Or does it feel solid?

-To anyone owning an Axe-case(the hardcase for the GVG): How sturdy does it feel? Does it hold/protect the piece well? What exatly could one cram into it?

Thanks everyone!

The glass is nice and thick. Several people think it looks like an anal sex toy when they first look at it.

The axe pack is pretty durable too. When the GVG is strapped down, I'm confident I could throw the case off of a roof and the GVG would still be intact when it landed.

Quit thinking about it and do eeeeet! Very happy

I agree w/ Melodic Catastrophe re: the glass, it feels very solid and looks like high-quality craftsmanship. There's no flimsy glass whatsoever.

I was also looking for a lighter to accompany the piece, and Im wondering if this may be a bit to intense for the GVG to handle(is there a possibility of melting anything, seeing how it can get fairly hot?) This lighter

I know everyone recommends the arc, but I feel like being a little exotic and want to try something newVery happy

As someone who owns the axe case, I definitely recommend it. If you're gonna splurge on beautiful glass why not have something nice to keep it in and travel with? The axe case is very sturdy to hold and is well supporting for the contents. The inside comes with velcro straps to hold down the GVG within the faux fur cushrion, a lighter and other accessories. Plus a zipping pouch for extra screens or pads.

I suppose the glass is thick...having said that, if I ever were to drop it, I would expect to be sweeping it up. The case seems very protective though. You could probably throw it half way across the room in the case, and it would probably be fine.

I would not recommend that lighter. The flame is too big and hot. I have a hobby torch with a similar flame – used it once as an experiment, and it put a small crack in the glass top piece. Using a regular torch lighter seems to work fine.

I use this lighter from Vector http://www.amazon.com/Ve...ter-Chrome/dp/B001CZH7WQ

It is definitely overkill but I like having a really hot flame because it gets the GVG to temp really quick. Never have melted anything or cracked any glass, but on the first couple of times using it I did burn the spice.
