I love this community, its probably the best forum i've ever been to... i've met a few of you in the chat which is a great way to meet each other, but i want to know what you all really like, what's your one 'thing' if you had to pick, to say 'this is what i am about, this is what i exist for'

It could be a philosophy, a person, an animal, writing, making music, acting... you get the point Pleased

So, what's your 'thing'?

I guess no explanation is needed here Pleased

* Self enhancement
This might sounds egocentric but I think there are a lot of things where I can improve myself on, mostly this means learning.

* Finding meaning
Constantly searching for a meaning, this can be anything and it mostly means understanding something. It goes hand in hand with my self enhancement.

Kind regards,

The Traveler

My thing? To slay the beast of ignorance, and break a sweat.

Over the past 10 years I've spent on average 12 hours a week in a gym, diligently lifting things up, then putting them down. My lifelong love is strength training, and sometime in the next year or two I plan to enter an amateur powerlifting meet or strongman competition, where I shall come dead last, but keep trying anyway because I love it. For a good while I trained Brazilian jui-jitsu and some other grappling martial arts, and while I still enjoy doing that the drive to excel at them has diminished, and it's really not something you can half-ass.

More recently (thanks to psychedelics) I've become obsessed with gardening, horticulture, farming and permaculture. I have some professional plans in that area.
Sometimes I believe that this less material life is our truer life, and that our vain presence on the terraqueous globe is itself the secondary or merely virtual phenomenon.

Lessen suffering in all areas. I like to think that since I realistically cannot save the world that I might possibly achieve this in an ongoing and personally meaningful way by being the best person I can, being honest with myself and others and always being willing to make personal, individual interventions, no matter what the cost, even be it the potential cost of my very life some day. . . .
"But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."

I'm collaborating with other minds here in Hungary to establish a legal framework for the psychotherapeutic use of psychedelics. The first step is to get allowance and a respectable institutional background for training purposes, that is: waking up the psychedelic therapists of the future. By a rather strange coincidence, dr. Ede Frecska, who is Chief of Department at the National Institute of Psychiatry here in Hungary, is also an avid supporter of psychedelic therapy with ayahuasca. This means that the movement has great, respectable professional support behind it. To me this is a sign that in my country, this sort of awakening is allowed to happen, that it is not just another idealistic dream. Therefore I go for it with all the remaining strength and determination I have.

If we manage to do this, then I'd like to be among the first who partake in psychedelic therapy as a patient. I feel that I have a lot of dark cruft amassed in me which I cannot unearth by myself because I always lose my reference points in the intensity of the experience - I become the devil which I'd like to cast out. I'd like to find out who this devil is, why it is in me, in what ways I am it or not it, and everything that follows from this realization. Which I feel would be... plenty.

Thanks for narrowing it down to one thing, like i asked lol Pleased

Maybe its a bit much to ask people to narrow it down to one thing as there's so many different things can be fulfilling/reasons to exist.

We're obviously not here just for one thing as we have a variety of life experiences, but i do feel that every being in a way has one thing they just click with
