What steps do people take here to keep there identities safe?

i have noticed the SWIM stuff, the signatures etc.

someone mentioned hiding there IP address.

is there dangers of talking about dmt extraction in private messages on facebook, email etc?

would your ebay account be tracked? this sort of thing has been rolling around in my head just wondering where people stand. i would think that if they wanted to, it wouldnt be hard to find out whos who in real life..

Gmail is designed to gather data about you, the consumer. That's why you get those specifically targeted ads. I would never incriminate myself with it. All that information is stored via google, who knows what they do with it all.
Facebook was designed for data mining. Not only do they gather your data, but it is then sold to other companies who use it for marketing purposes and the like. (Ever wonder why the man who started it is a billionaire?) It surprises me how many people are unaware of something so out in the open.
Yahoo also does this with their e-mail services and groups for example. (I've talked to a person who designs data mining software for them)
eBay keeps every transaction of yours in their database. eBay also doesn't allow the sale of anything illegal, so I wouldn't worry. Although if you're buying labware, chemicals, and root bark all from eBay I imagine that must raise some flags.

With the way things are nowadays, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Paranoia is just a word invented by the government to make drug users think that they are crazy and that the government isnt watching them.

We have come to a time where we live in a police state so paranoia is a good and smart thing,Better be safe than sorry as ۩ said.

By the way ,dont ever talk about extractions on facebook nor by email, especialy since microsoft can check your email without much problems.
Also as my friend tells me, if you really want hide your IP and stuff ,you will need a team of at least 2 people, one for cleaning up your tracks and im not sure what the
other one is for( althought he told me thats what a hacker would need to do not to get caught).By the way its not that hard for the government to find whos who
because they have something like 30 000 employees that check the web constantly(NSA)+ microsoft helps to give private data to the government for free. Its crazy!

At least in the US, the prisons are overcrowded and the government is out of money and understaffed. The LAST thing on the DEA's list of priorities is tracking down chemistry nerds who extract a little DMT/drink a little aya in the privacy of their home, riiight under aging hippies who grow for themselves.

Now, I could be wrong about that... but I do know that the guy across the street from me sells a lot of drugs to a lot of people. Everyone knows it. The police know it. I know it. The day they have the resources to prosecute him, that's the day I consider getting worried.

Yeah the other obvious thing about eBay is that is publicly displays your last few purchases so anyone can view your recent purchases.... so family or friends might be able to see, and that might raise more imminent concerns.

You'll be fine

If you want you can get your friend to buy from these guys http://www.juremaincense.com/ourproduct.htm . they state about 10 uses for the mimosa bark and "dont condone using for its spiritual purposes".

Then get your friend to buy some lye. lye blinds and burns, wear goggles and gloves. If you wiki lye theres a ton of uses for lye around the house

There are software programs out there that allow you to send encrypted E-mail to someone without having to exchange any keys first. For example, see http://www.gpg4win.org/. Using one of these programs, someone with access to your E-mail account could tell who you are communicating with and when, but would have no idea of the content of the messages.

Yeah and what about Amazon...they sent a FOAF a message for products related to things s/he might be interested in, such as "Lye" and "Naptha" and "Turkey Basters". When s/he got that e-mail it sure sent her scratching her head, since s/he had never bought such products via Amazon. Were they networking with google search to find what s/he might be interested in?

I find it odd that you say don't talk about extractions on facebook or email when DMT Nexus is a public forum that anyone can watch. If someone has the skills to intercept emails or something like that I'm pretty sure that they have the skills to come up with a location for a specific poster. Saying "SWIM" or "All of this is fiction" has little merit if people are posting pictures (which can hold data relating to location and source computer) and asking detailed questions about extraction help. That said I wouldn't worry.

I believe BananaForeskin's thoughts on the matter are the most logical. It is unlikely that the gov't will target people who are causing no harm to society and who they would likely have a hard time convicting. Unless you happen to be buying kgs of Mimosa each week I wouldn't worry, just don't flaunt what you're doing and you'll be fine.

shishigami: the Nexus is incredibly lucky to have a wonderful admin like the Traveler. It's been set up so that every connection requires SSL encryption. All metadata (EXIF, etc) gets stripped from photos automatically before posting. All IP connections are private to the server and would require a court order to even begin making connections to specific users. Though, you can always use TOR with the Firefox plug-in, if it's something that concerns you.
