This tek sounds great but a good friend of mine has a couple questions. Firstly, what does "A very strong batch of lye water" actually mean? What ratios?

Also, "Either D-Limonene or Xylene is added depending on what is most easily available." Just how much is added?

My friend is really hopeful someone can answer these questions

dont discount resin. its very easy and arguably a better trip than acetate or hcl to some folks.

extracting mescaline using the 69ron tek is the only tek i found terribly un fun. i have 400mg waiting for me so ill have to decide if it was worth all the smelly work after i eat it. i hope its good but it will have to be really good to do that tek again.
im not bashing the tek, its great. its just a pain in the arse. Laughing sorry i cant answer your questions i hope you dont mind my un solicited 2 cents.Very happy

p.s. why do you call it mescalito? that reference makes me think of Castaneda's book. in Mexico and the south west mescalito refers to an alcoholic beverage. i think Castaneda got it wrong when he got the world calling mescaline mescalito.

NaOH solution with pH~13-14.

yes, and depending on your pocket. the amount added depends on the amount of sludge. some of the limo/xylene will be absorbed in the sludge. however, usually on a 100g dry trich powder, 3-4 limo pulls (100-150ml each) are sufficient. longer the pull time, results in better yield.

edit* i agree with olympus btw that resin is the better method. i did an extraction on some torch, and 400mg of dmt acetate didn't do much at all. doses around 1g are required (at least for me) which seems only fairly decent. the boiled tea had a much stronger effect at a lower dosage for me in the past (different cacti sources btw); but i think it can only be done with fresh cacti

Very strong probably means >ph13. Do a little math and find the difference in final ph if you mix 500 ml neutral tea with 200 ml of either ph 13 or ph 13.5 lye water and you will see it doesn't really matter. If you aren't satisfied that all the actives are out, just add more lye... I see people mention the vagueness of this tek a lot, but if you understand the principals those details really are not important. In fact, I think people are maybe a bit too attached to the named tek idea in general. The baby step teks are good for beginners and research, but after that it's time to make decisions for yourself...

After observing SWIMS Mesc tek, I agree with Olympus Mon. Resin deserves great respect for many reasons. First, it's food grade by definition. Second, it's not so much werk. Third, it insures all the plant's teaching essence is used and nothing is wasted. Fourth, it stores well. Fifth, it's not that hard to consume. Pure mesc seems good for curiousity purposes or precise dosing, but resin sure can make it a great day to be alive.

As far as "a very strong batch of lye", SWIM noticed the solubility limit of lye is about 1 gram per ml of water. Some teks add even double that amount to the cactus soup. The mesc molecule seems stable in the presence of an excess of OH- ions.

It appears mescaline freebase is pretty soluble in both water and solvent. SWIM thinks this would suggest that using a maximum amount of solvent would extract the fastest. SWIM used ~100ml because that's the size of his labware but a larger volume might allow fewer extractions to capture all the goods.

Anyway, I'm just a noob....cker

Want a good reason to xtract? The smell of extract reminds SWIM of strong peyote tea. SWIM loves the smell of mescaline in the morning. mmmmmm
