swim is sad, swim is silly. swim tried drying mescaline acetate in the gas oven on 200f (lowest setting) with the door open and a fan blowing inside. it was left alone for a few minutes and got too hot, now swim is left with 1.5g toasty acetate. is it a total loss, or is there a clean-up that can be done, or can it be consumed as is??? Sad Embarrased

Got any 99% MEK?
As you know you can use it to clean up mesc-acetate.
Not much mesc-acetate will dissolve in cold MEK, but some other molecules will dissolve in the MEK easily.
Perhaps (some of) the burnt molecules can be washed away. Perhaps not.

Would be interesting to know if your product is active.
But im not sure if i would take it.

you could probably safely try it as is, or I'd be personally interested to see what you get if you chopped up all the burnt stuff you have a fine as possible, soak it in water, then decant and evap. Its possible you will have a purer result than you had in the first place.

actually swim was not aware of this, although he knew it could be used for the hcl--thanks, but swim does not have any handy.

swim thinks the water clean up is a good idea, too-- i bet this could benefit in removing insoluble particles--probably carbon at this pointSad

but from all three replies so far, i think i like this one best:::

swim capped up 3 -100mg capsules, and dissolved the rest in warm water, and filtered out dark solids.

so swim consumed 300mg of the toasted acetate after re-dissolving filtering, and evapping. just to clarify a bit,---it wasn't totally burnt, but very amber to dark brown mostly.

no effects.

sure many of you are not surprised as lots of folks say acetates are heat sensitive. swim was just being impatient, and it led to apparent loss of alkaloids.Sad --actually swim is beside himself for being foolish and disrespectful.

this is also unfortunate because now swim does not know if the vendor who supplied the specimen (basement shaman) is indeed shipping potent peruvian torch.

anyone had good results with these? swim has gotten many other goodies from basement shaman over the years, and has always been happy.

MEK for used for mesc-HCl???
for recrystalisation perhaps. not for washing...Btw for recrystalisation you dont need 99% MEK. some water in the MEK will help dissolve mescaline salt. I think it was dg who mentions this in another thread.

Too bad your product was not active.
And thanks for sharing that info.
