my appetite has diminished quite significantly in the last couple weeks...i'm not sure what's going on.
i just don't feel hungry, and my stomache feels nervous and nautious.
i'm also trying to reduce my cosumption of cannabis, which isn't helping the situation!

any suggestions for herbal remedies or such that will help calm the stomache and increase appetite?

big thanks Stop

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Do you exercise? If not, thats medicine n1.

As for calming the stomach, chamomille tea seems to have that effect but im not sure if it affects appetite.

Do you use coffee or tobacco?
They effectively "trick" the brain into thinking that you're not hungry.

sources of phenylalanine cause you to become hungry or to become full, depending on what your body actually needs.

So, chew gum to increase your appetite, or even diet coke contains this substance.

Chew freshly sliced ginger - this stirs your digestive fires up - in fact chewing anything will start making you hungry - it causes an expectant stomach, gets the juices churning, don't ask me how.

Other than that, I don't know - I would've suggested taking cannabis too, but if you're trying to reduce the consumption of that then I don't know. I will post if I think of anything else bro!

I read the OP again ( sorry, I have a habit of skimming), and noticed that you are nauseous too - PEPPERMINT is great for upset stomachs, so go out and get some natural mints, or some peppermint tea (easier than finding organic REAL mint mints imo).

Peace!

How much cannabis have you been using, and does your reduction in use coincide with the onset of your symptoms?
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

When I stopped using cannabis completely (with no real tapering off of use) I had the same problem. No appetite and an almost anxious/nervous feeling in my gut. Not necessarily nausea, but an uncomfortable feeling that made me not want to eat.

As has been said, exercise is key. Chewing anything does help, but only so much. I also started watching the Food Network a lot and that got me thinking about food and new creative ways of experimenting with cooking which helped a lot as well. I tripled the amount of water I was drinking everyday which can help speed up your metabolism and make you feel hungry. Specific foods that helped increase my appetite were: Grapefruit, caraway seeds, alfalfa sprouts, ginger, garlic, ginseng, and black currants. Oh, and thyme. Thyme is probably my favorite herb to use for cooking. I still put it in almost everything.

Find some way to get yourself thinking about food and get excited about new ways of cooking. It's easy for us to get lazy and just pick up some ready-made food or some fast food which, in the long run, creates this problem I think. We become uninterested in food (at least real food that isn't loaded with flavor enhancers and sodium) and we lose, or never develop, the interest in cooking for ourselves.

wow, thanks everyone! Very happy

i do exercise, but not enough probably. i figured that some heavy exercise might help stimulate my appetite for food. thanks for the reminder.

i don't use tobacco or drink coffee. but i do have a soda once in a while.

how much cannabis? well that's hard to say exactly. about a few grams a day probably.

i had a touch of the flu recently, and started reducing my consumption of cannabis right around the same time. and i've also just begun a relationship with a girl that im pretty crazy about, which, ive noticed in the past, has affected my appetite and makes me slightly nervous, ect.

thanks again for all the helpful input. you guys are the best!

i used to get like this when i heavily smoked cannabis and had not smoked for a day or so. since cutting down tho and eventually convincing myself i was'nt addicted it has stopped whenever i dont smoke for a while.

lol funny thing is to cannabis is an antiemetic and appetite stimulant so a little most likely would help Rolling eyes.

if your worried speak to a doctor.

peace
