Maybe I am not looking hard enough but I can't find anywhere that talks about the ranking system here. Just out of curiosity whats the difference between the enlightened members and the infinite beings and such and what is the order? 'Little spider weaves a wispy web, stumblin' through the woods it catches to my head. She crawls behind my ear and whispers secrets. Dragonfly whiz by and sings now teach it.'

I think it's the number of posts. Don't know what the ladder's like though. (Ding, +1!!) SWIM is Spartacus!
The things posted on DMT-Nexus by Shayku are generally false. They are for entertainment purposes only.

Haha! I'm not trying to figure out how to get promoted, I just assumed my posts were being analyzed by some higher power and soon I might get a Ding! Rather just trying to figure out the order of things 'Little spider weaves a wispy web, stumblin' through the woods it catches to my head. She crawls behind my ear and whispers secrets. Dragonfly whiz by and sings now teach it.'

To be honest I have no idea how the member ranking goes.. I think it was never meant to be anything serious or to be considered as anything important. We really dont want people judging each other based on post number or ranks... Good posters are good posters regardless of how many posts they made before. Also we dont want focusing on such numbers because it leads to a lot of ego-centered attitude ("hey look at me I have many posts so Im better" kind of thing), which is definitely not what the nexus is all about. In any case, maybe some other mod or trav will be able to say what is the exact order of the rankings just to satisfy your curiosity

I'm more interested to know what the little symbols mean below the rank. I've figured out the Yellow symbol you have means Moderator. I assume the little plant is for us Nursery folks. Not sure what the blue filled flask means . And obviously The_Traveler has his own. Not sure if I missed any.

The flask means chemistry experts, the yellow means moderators, the little plant is nursery (watch out because when yours dissapears it means youre promoted ) , trav's icon is like a map (he's the guide..). I think thats all there is.

The 'rank' is about how many posts you made. It has nothing to do with a real rank or preferable position, it's just a gimmick for fun. The list is like this: * Spirit (0 posts) * Enlightend member(50 posts) * Hyperspace member(150 posts) * Voyager(300 posts) * Astral Planer(600 posts) * Infinite Being(1500 posts) Kind regards, The Traveler

Now that you mention the "rankings" I must say I have always been slightly disturbed by the typo on the "Enlightend member". I'm not a native English speaker, so this generally would make me a little odd, making me doubt if it was me that was wrong. But no! I checked it out and it really is "Enlightened"! Time for rechecking the naming system... or will I be downgraded for mentioning it "The elfclowns of hyperspace are already juggling in the center ring. Hurry! Hurry!" T.M

so out of curiosity, what qualifys someone for the "chemistry expert" icon? do these people have formal science backgrounds or just really smart and good at what they do? and just for my 2 cents, id like it if the member titles and post #'s were in the persons information profile but not next to the avatars. i think it looks like a hierarchy. if you want to know who to listen to and who knows their shit log on and observe for 1 week! i promise you can tell pretty quick who has the knowledge and is active. not a big deal but since you brought it up.... Or maybe the use of less glorifying status terms would let the world know who they're really dealing with? For example: * I'm new (0 posts) * Curious(50 posts) * Right, that's enough(150 posts) * Bad habit(300 posts) * Rickets(600 posts) * When was the last time you even looked at your wife?(1500 posts) * Hidden agenda (5000 posts)
