Hi guys, a FOAF is new to A/B extractions, and is planning his first trial run on a San Pedro stock. He is wondering if MEK or Acetone would work better than Xylene for separating the freebase.
He doesn't remember much from the chemistry course he took so many years ago, but for some reason, he's under the impression that since the XlogP figures more closely match that of mescaline (.7), that they should work more efficiently.
It seems that MEK and Acetone have XlogP figures of .4 and .2 respectively, while Xylene is around 2.5. Is this guy totally off base here? Is the XlogP figure irrelevant in this case? Any input is most appreciated.
Thanks.
