What is the brown stuff? (It isn't seed residue, a vacuum filter was used at every step of the extraction). Very little info is available online about the smell and appearance of LSA. Anyways, I was hoping someone with a little chem know-how could post a simple tek on this thread for beginners like myself on how to run a column on LSA using widely available solvents. SWIM has a column, and has ordered some silica, but all the info he can find on running a column either involve hard to get solvents (e.g., chloroform) or are too vague. A simple 1,2,3,4 including measurements, durations and gear would be greatly appreciated by all I think. To my knowledge, there is nothing out there that fits this description yet. Thanks...

You should check out the LSD books by Otto snow and Uncle Fester on LSD. They contain interesting information on LSA and derivatives including extraction techniques.

check out my reply in the other thread for the chromo info. but if you want an easy way to crystal, dissolve in a saturated sodium bicarbonate solution and extract with chloroform or benzene, dry over baked epsom salts and evap (or remove by vacuum if you have the setup). get a rough idea of how many grams of freebase LSA you have (ie weigh the evap dish before you put it the freebase extract in and weigh again after the evap) and add a solution of 4ml warm methanol containing 232mg of tartaric acid per each gram of freebase. add dry dieth ether (starter fluid) untill the cloudiness does not go away and place in the freezer overnight for the crystals to set. just filter and dry. you should have fluffy white to yellow brown needles depending on the purity of your product.
