I just wonder if it can somehow get DIRTIER than before the re-xtal?

I did it on 2.3 grams in a shot glass and I have 1 gram so far. it's a little MORE yellow than it was before I did it, but the other shot glass with cleaner solvent has a decent amount of xtals in it, but I highly doubt I'll have anywhere near 2.3

Which makes me wonder why I did it. I had very clean looking yellow crystals but wanted white crystals so I did a re-xtal, now it seems like I'll have a gram of DMT that is dirtier than it was before, and then probably .5 new clean DMT.

That don't seem like a fair trade haha. They're in the freezer, I'll add pictures later on today as I'm letting it freeze for 36 hours.

Yeah re-x can lose you some yield. Did you decant or siphon off the re-x'd naptha into a new contyainer before freezing?
I would suggest the siphon method is best and keep the naptha hot so as to keep the dmt in the naptha.

There's definitely a knack to re-xing. It is defo worth it if done correctly though, pure spice!

I do it in a bed. with pillows.

In all seriousness, Recrystallizations do work very very well. When you did it in the shot glass, did you make sure to decant everything into a new glass? and did you make sure you heated all the naptha? if its only room temperature, you can sometimes pull more contaminates over.

I heated it up and then put the heptane in the DMT shot glass. I took the heptane and put it in a new shot glass, and then re-xtalled the other shot glass with contaminants and it gave me a gram of DMT so far.
There's not much in the heptane thing though.

I'll see how it is when I come home form work in 5 hours. I'll post pics too.

I had this problem mistake i made was:

- Heat up some naptha in warm water bath (boil some water, put in a bowl, place glas with naptha in bath)
- Let stand for 5 minutes

now this is imporant!!

- put in yellowish dmt in warm naptha
- DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SHAKE, PUT A SPOON IN AND MOVE IT AROUND OR LOOK AT EVIL.

- the dmt will desolve by itself and a oily liquid will form at the bottom.
- decant the naptha and stick in freeze, keep the oily liquid thats left on the bottom for some changa

Basicly warm naptha will desolve dmt oxide, the yellow stuff, so just be carefull not to mix it in.
