In this day and age where all the rage is into lime and d-limonene (which is, by the way, at least as toxic as naphtha), a friend of mine has perfected his A/B with outstanding yields

No mysteries here, no tricks, no long time boiling, no extreme use of lye or vinegar and *pure* white crystals

So he boiled 160 g of plain powdered MHRB with 2 liter of water and 2 table spoons of vinegar (yes, only that is more than enough). The boiling took 30 minutes. Then he took it out of the stove and let it decant. Filtering is a waste of time and gives a false idea of cleanliness of the liquid. He let the decanting phase during the night (7-8 hours). Got the clear red liquid out of the MHRB and boiled it until about 600 ml remained (about 1:30 hours). He dumped there some water with two table spoons of lye and mixed thoroughly in an 1000 ml erlenmeyer. He then checked the pH which was above 14. While the liquid was hot he threw in 3x 30 ml of lighter fluid, shaking for 10 mins each. Absolutely no emulsion. From these 90 ml he freeze precipitate and in 24 hours he got 1.4 grams of *pure* and beautiful white crystals. He continued with the pulls as the naphtha was pretty saturated and got 0.6 grams of partly yellow spice, and from a third take he got about extra 0.4 grams, thus in total 2.4 grams or 1.5 %

But this is not over! He is certain that there are still hidden goodies in the strained mimosa, as the process was not very through. I will post the remaining part of this story as soon as my friend tells me. I would not be surprised he he gets very close to 2% of total yield

Important lessons learned:
1. Vinegar is more than enough for getting most everything from powdered bark
2. Extended boiling is definitely not necessary.
3. Lots of lye is not necessary, just enough to get the pH above 14
4. Naphtha is a perfectly good polar solvent for dissolving freebase if it's used while the substrate is hot

^ Oh wow. A month...no, you can complete an A/B within a day.

Quick overview:

1) 3:1 water:vinegar
2) crockpot
3) mimosa
4) lye
5) plain water


Put your mimosa in a crock pot on high, fill with 3:1 vinegar water (phosphoric, HCL are also good alternatives, but only small amounts are needed, ph of 3-4 is preferable)

Let it get to a boil and pull it, strain

The plant material should go back in the pot with 3:1 vinegar solution again, covering all plant material + 1"
Let simmer 30 minutes, strain repeat with WATER (no vinegar)
Let low simmer 1 hour.
Combine all water/vinegar pulls, leaving a majority of plant material behind, the more the better, but don't have to get it all out.
In a milk jug, pour this solution in.
In a pyrex measuring cup add 1/2 cup of water, SLOWLY add lye, if you add too much too quickly the water will flash boil and erupt like a volcano, so do it slowly..please. I add 1/8 of a cup of lye to the water, maybe a bit more....

pour lye water into milk jug with the mimosa "wine", it should turn BLACK and you will see white streaks, this is good.

Add 200mL naphtha per 500g mimosa, swirl, remove, place in a mason jar and put it right in the freezer.
Add another 200mL (per 500g mimosa) swirl, let sit for 30 minutes. Check your jar in the freezer, bet it's covered in xtals and is no longer cloudy. Switch solvents, meaning get your xtals (or leave them stuck to the sides of the glass) get the naphtha out of the jug and into the mason jar...recycle it, you only need 400mL of naphtha for and extaction, just use over and over until the jug is exhuasted.

You have smokeable spice as soon as the first jar has frozen.....

TL/DR: 15min tek for clear to white spice.

Materials:
100g pre powdered MHRB
100g Lye crystal
600ml distilled water
75ml of bestine brand or similar pure heptane.
long pipette of syringe with tube attached.
750ml alcohol bottle or similar glass seal-able vessel.

1. over the course of 10min add lye to water in the bottle. shake and stir very well. be sure to vent from time to time. i run it under a gently cool water sink just in case. but you CANNOT let it get cold. once all 100g have dissolved and the water has cleared from it's cloudy state move to step 2.

2. using a funnel add 100g of MHRB. shake bottle to mix. when shaking in this step and the prior remember that hot liquid in a closed bottle causes the air inside to expand. avoid spraying your hands with basic liquid when unscrewing cap. the bottle should be warm to hot at this point. just avoid simmering the water.

3. immediately add the 75ml of heptane and shake like mad. heptane does not dissolve dmt well when anything but boiling. if you have done steps 1 and 2 correct the heat from the basic root mixture is enough to do this.

4. let the bottle settle for 5 or so min. i place my bottles on the subwoofer of my computer. 2min of dubstep is enough to break any emulsion ive seen yet. it also makes the solvent separate much much faster. heptane also seems to split faster than naphtha with a normal STB.

5. at this point the heptane should be on top and not have any black gew floating in it. it may appear cloudy or bubbly or something of the sort. this is(should be) the heptane boiling. but you deff dont want any bubbles of dark liquid. using your suction device remove most of the heptane. i can get about 65-70ml of the initial 75ml before it is too annoying to continue. never risk the purity of your 70ml of pure solvent for that last 5ml. we shall see it again anyway ;]

5.5 the second you suck the heptane into your pipette it should become VERY cloudy. almost totally opaque. this is the deadman's test to see if you ran this tek correct. the heptane should been hot enough in the bottle to dissolve huge amount of dmt, but as soon as it hits the pipette it will cool enough that the dmt will begin to fall out of solution causing the color shift.


6. place the solvent in a lidded non reactive jar and place in the freezer. in my experience due to the saturation of suddenly non soluble dmt, just 3min in the frz and you can see crystals growing(not just precipitating but growing like real crystals should). after one night in the coooooold freezer(cold enough that my veggies freeze in the fridge!)

7.pour the heptane into a beaker taking care to pour slow enough to not wash all free floating crystals out. most all your dmt should be stuck to the jar pretty good. not like a naphtha FP, but actually caked on and stuck to the jar. you can now pour this cleanish heptane back into your bottle of basic liquid.

I am able to do this start to finish in 15min plus the night in the freezer. it yields pure clear to white to slightly off white crystals. most of which stay separate in the jar so if you take care scraping you can keep them apart.

this tek depends on a few key things.

-saving the heat energy from the basification to boil your naptha.
-pre powdered MHRB does not need more than 5min in solution to break down the cellulose and free the dmt.
-using heptane.
-woofer helps seperate while remaining HOT!

for your second pull i suggest capping your bottle with the base liquid and heptane and running it under a sink for 20min. most household sinks will hit 180 or atleast 140 which is enough to boil the heptane. i do not know the effects of letting the heptane soak in the bottle for more than a couple min. contam may go up.

after 2 or 3 pulls i switch to naphtha and do your normal normans tek to pull spice. a combo of cooling pulls durring FP will ensure no oils. to do this siphon off the solvent after 10-20min in the frzr. place the yellow solvent in a clean jar and continue the FP. once the orange/brown goop has fallen out but not the dmt. this yields a crystalline/fluffy yellow spice. if you dry the goop you get orange spice.

i save my goop in a jar and am growing red crystals in brown oils atm.
